Like in any business, returning and loyal customers form the backbone of the automotive business as well. Both bigshot brands and automotive startups focus on building a loyal customer base. Ather, a major in the electric two-wheeler space, holds the reputation of being reliable and trouble-free. The company recently shared the story of one of its loyal customers. A post on X (previously Twitter) shared by Ather Energy’s official handle, and later retweeted by its top-level leadership, tells the story of M R Diwakar, who owns not one, but 11 Ather scooters.

Diwakar’s family garage has almost every electric scooter model that Ather sells in the country. Apart from the latest addition, there are six 450X scooters, three Apexes and a Rizta. He bought his first Ather in 2020. Five years down the line, he took delivery of the eleventh scooter. Of course, he doesn’t own all of these himself. These are being used by various members of his family.

According to the X post, Diwakar got excited by Ather CEO Tarun Mehta announcing the rollout of the long-awaited ‘Infinite Cruise’ at the Ather Communite Day 2025, and decided to make the latest purchase- another Apex. Making the occasion even more memorable, Swapnil Jain, the co-founder of Ather Energy, handed over the scooter to him.

The post further mentions that Diwakar has already planned his first long ride with the new Ather- a Bengaluru-Mysuru ride! Riding along this route is, in fact, very practical for Ather owners, as the company has already set up Ather fast chargers along the same route.

Customers like Diwakar should indeed be cherished. He is being a notable part of the country’s growing EV movement by supporting the homegrown brand...

Ather Energy’s Game Plan: Latest Updates

Ather now has three nameplates on sale in India- the 450, 450 Apex, and the Rizta. At its 2025 Community Day, the EVmaker revealed fresh road map and showcased a couple of interesting concepts- the EL01 and the Redux. It also announced OTA updates for the current models.

Ather is developing a new scalable platform- the EL. It is expected to deliver greater flexibility, scalability, and cost efficiency. It will have a unibody steel chassis and a simpler structure. On the new platform, the motor will sit on the swingarm.

Vehicles based on the EL platform will also come with a front disc brake and monoshock suspension. These will be manufactured at the new factory that’s being built in Aurangabad. Family-oriented scooters, maxi scooters, and more will be built based on the EL platform.

Ather’s new software updates introduce features like voice interaction, safety features like Crash Alerts, live location data, and Pothole Alerts, hill control, crawl control, and even Infinite Cruise Control.

The Redux concept, which the company showed off at the event, gathered massive attention. It previews a radically styled electric motorcycle. The company in fact, calls it a ‘moto scooter’. The ergonomics stand midway between those of a scooter and a motorcycle. These can be altered further to lean to either of these.

It has a lightweight aluminium frame. It gets a 3D-printed lattice mesh seat and uniquely styled body panels. The concept also has adaptive ride dynamics, adjustable ergonomics, and Morph-UI- a display that changes colours and layout with riding modes. Ather has also added a new riding mode called ‘Take off’ to the list, which we expect would deliver insane acceleration.
