Many young riders have started going on road trips, and some of them post these things online as well. Some of them are into motovlogging, and we often come across videos of riders getting involved in crashes and even getting pulled over by cops for speeding. Some of these videos are funny while others are dangerous. Here we have a video where a bunch of bikers, who were resting between their ride, were stopped by cops and were asked for permission to go on long rides.

The video has been shared by a user on Reddit. The exact location of this incident is not known, but it looks like somewhere in Uttar Pradesh. In this video, the riders are actually on a highway, and when the video starts, they were already stopped by a patrol vehicle.

We see three officers in the video checking out the bikes and questioning the riders. The riders tell them that they had come for a ride, and it looks like the cops did not understand the concept of riding and thought that they were racing.

The cops told them that they were racing on the road without permission. The riders explained that it was not them, as they were resting on the side of the road after the ride. We can hear the vlogger continuously saying that he is riding a Yamaha R15 bike and it doesn’t go above 120 kmph.

Other than the Yamaha R15, the group had a TVS Apache RTR 200 and one more bike. Coming to the video, the constable took the department-issued phone and started clicking photos of the bikes and riders. The biker kept telling the cop that there had been some sort of confusion, and that is when the cop asked the rider something that left him confused.

The cop asked him if he had permission, and to this, the rider asked, “Permission for what?” The officer asked if he had permission for riding.

It looks like the cops themselves were confused and did not know the difference between riding and racing. Another possibility is that the officers received complaints from locals about illegal races happening on the road, and these bikers happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. We can hear them say at the start of the video that they had been getting reports from locals about bikers creating disturbances at night.

We can hear the bikers trying to convince the cops that they were not racing, and one of them was even ready to show them his YouTube channel, probably to show the type of content he creates. The senior officer asks his colleague to click images and issue a fine against the riders for riding, but the junior officer was actually confused as he himself didn’t know what the offence was. He can be seen asking the senior what the offence should be.

Riding a bike on a public road is not an offence, and we feel if the rider was issued a fine, it was wrong and felt more like the cops had approached them with the intention to issue a fine no matter what. However, if these riders were actually racing, the cops have every right to take action.
