Honda recently relaunched their popular superbike, the CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade, in the Indian market. CBR is a name that has a huge fan following in India and around the world, and we are pretty sure many CBR fans were sad when Honda decided to discontinue the bike from the market in 2020. The bike is now officially available for sale in India, and it has already started reaching dealerships with deliveries also beginning.

Here are a couple of videos from Instagram where we see customers from different parts of the country taking deliveries of the Honda CBR 1000RR-R superbike. The first one is from Indore and the other one is from Kochi, Kerala. In the first video, we see the owner arrive at a Honda BigWing dealership in their Mahindra XUV9E. The bike arrives in a box like a toy.

The bike is brought to the dealership on a flatbed. The waterproof cover, meant to protect the bike from dust and water, is removed by the owner and his friends when the flatbed reverses into the unloading area.

The bike is secured inside a metal cage, which the owner and his friends pick up with the motorcycle and take inside the dealership. Inside, they dismantle the cage and finally get to see the bike up close.

In the video from Kerala, the bike is already on the delivery floor, ready to be handed over to the customer. Unlike the first video, it is not inside a cage. The customer is accompanied by his family to take the delivery, and the bike is unveiled to him after the documentation and other formalities are completed.

Once the bike is unveiled, the usual celebration from the dealership side is seen here as well, and we see the customer ride the bike out of the dealership at the end. The Honda CBR 1000RR-R is the flagship model from the Japanese two-wheeler brand in India.

The bike was discontinued temporarily in 2020, and when compared to the older version, the current version is around Rs 2.23 lakh more expensive. The CBR 1000RR-R has received cosmetic upgrades, some of which are based on Honda’s learnings from MotoGP. The front fascia of the motorcycle remains more or less the same, with twin-pod LED headlamps and an air intake in the center.

Honda is also offering aerodynamic winglets integrated into the fairing for increased downforce at higher speeds. As the name suggests, the CBR 1000RR-R is powered by a 999cc, inline-4 cylinder engine that generates 214 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. This is the same as the previous model.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter and a titanium exhaust as standard. As with any motorcycle in this segment, the Fireblade is offered with USD front forks from Öhlins at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

Both can be adjusted electronically, and the bike also gets Brembo discs on both ends for better braking performance. It comes with five power modes, nine traction levels, three-level engine braking control, wheelie control, and more. The CBR is only available in the top-spec SP variant, priced at around Rs 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
