Just a few weeks ago, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, was seen riding his restored Yezdi Road King motorcycle on the inaugural day of the Hebbal Flyover Loop. Now, once again, the Dy CM was seen riding his motorcycle from his college days on the roads of Bengaluru. He has shared a video of him doing the same, and as a result of this ride, he is now being trolled online.

After a few kicks, he was able to start the motorcycle and then took it out on the Bengaluru roads. Shivakumar, in his post, highlighted that despite having a packed schedule, he took out time to relive the days when he used to be young. He added that the purpose of riding his new bike was to attend the Youth Congress State Executive Meeting.

The minister also added in the post, “It was more than just a ride; it was a chance to reconnect with the city and observe, firsthand, the everyday challenges like potholes that our citizens face.” Shivakumar highlighted that their government is out there, and it is listening, seeing, and committed to building a better Bengaluru — together.

A number of netizens on the post shared by DK Shivakumar started trolling him. A few users questioned the usage of such old motorcycles on public roads and whether it has passed emission norms or not. Meanwhile, a few other users highlighted that road conditions in different parts of Bengaluru are much worse, and they sarcastically suggested the minister ride on them.

One of the netizens stated, “Sir, please give incentive to the person who chose the route. Finding pothole-free roads in Bengaluru is one of the toughest jobs in India.” Meanwhile, another user said, “Please do continue to delight us by gathering your entourage, cavalcade running and riding merry behind you, expertly transforming peaceful streets into a live-action traffic jam spectacle. After all, who needs quiet daylight when chaos can be so entertaining?”

As mentioned above, DK Shivakumar, just a few weeks ago, was seen riding the same Yezdi Road King motorcycle on the Hebbal Flyover Loop on its inauguration day. At the event of the inauguration of this flyover, he was present along with CM Siddaramaiah and other officials. The new flyover is 700 meters long and aims to reduce traffic congestion by 30 percent, especially at the Hebbal junction.

The Yezdi Road King motorcycle seen in the video was the same bike DK Shivakumar used to ride back in the day when he was in college. This bike was then abandoned by him at his home. Recently, this bike was restored by a motorcycle enthusiast named Suprith, who then delivered it to the Dy CM.

He also presented a photo frame with the motorcycle to him. This particular model — Yezdi Road King motorcycle — comes powered by a 250cc two-stroke engine, which is capable of producing 18 bhp of maximum power and 24 Nm of torque. It gets a 4-speed manual gearbox.
