Superbikes can be considered missiles on the road. Yes, you read that right. Not metaphorically a missile, but an actual moving missile. We say this because anything traveling with such heavy mass at speeds around 300 kmph, if it makes contact with anything, can destroy itself and the other vehicle or any object or person. Recently, we came across a near-death experience of a Kawasaki ZX10R rider who almost hit a truck on a highway while going at a speed of 300 kmph.

The video showing this extremely dangerous and almost death trap has been shared on YouTube by V4R Retard on their channel. In this video, the rider was riding on a highway on his stock Kawasaki ZX10R superbike worth Rs 20.79 lakh. Riding alongside him was a rider on a BMW S1000RR worth Rs 22.7 lakh, which, as per the ZX10R rider, had been stage 2 tuned.

We can note that this adrenaline-pumping video is filled with the Kawasaki ZX10R and BMW S1000RR riding on a national highway at mind-bending speeds. These riders were regularly hitting upwards of 250–270 kmph. They were leaning on the turns and passing trucks and cars on the highway. It has to be mentioned that they were wearing full riding body suits, helmets, and other riding gear.

What happens next is that, towards the end of this video, the Kawasaki ZX10R rider, who was ahead of the S1000RR rider, wanted to hit 300 kmph. For this, he started his run and kept on accelerating. He first passed a truck on the right side, and then he was heading straight at 299 kmph, trying to hit 300 kmph.

Near-death experience

Soon after this, what happened was that a truck on the right lane of this highway started taking a U-turn. This caught the rider off guard. However, instead of panicking and hitting the brakes, the rider immediately swerved towards the left. Thankfully, there was enough road on the left side after swerving for him to stabilize.

However, had there been a delay of even a second in him making this decision to swerve, he would have crashed into the front left portion of this truck. As a result, he would have definitely died on the spot. It is very unlikely that any superbike or its rider, hitting something at 300 kmph, would be able to walk out.

Who was at fault?

From the video, we can note that the majority of the fault in this incident was of the Kawasaki ZX10R rider. Indian highways, despite becoming better, are still not reliable enough to ride at speeds upwards of 250–300 kmph. Riding at these speeds is illegal and extremely dangerous, and the unpredictability of Indian highways makes it even more terrifying.

That being said, the truck driver here was also wrong. The turn he was taking was completely illegal, and it was not a designated U-turn spot. Unfortunately, most truck drivers in India drive in a similar manner, and they cause numerous accidents throughout the year. Thankfully, in this case, the biker was saved by his quick reflex; else, there is no doubt that he might not have been alive.

The same video clip was shared on Reddit as well. Many people shared their thoughts on this incident. Of these one of the users left a very wise comment. It read, "There are BOLD riders There are OLD riders There are no BOLD OLD riders."
