CEO Gifts Employee A Royal Enfield GT 650 (Video)
Videos of successful CEOs gifting vehicles to employees often win the internet’s love. We have seen many such clips in the past. Now, a highly successful entrepreneur from Kerala has gifted one of his employees a brand-new Royal Enfield Continental GT650! AK Shaji, the Chairman and Managing Director of MyG, a big name in the smartphone retail space, is the one who’s made headlines by gifting his General Manager a GT. The vehicle was delivered by Blue Mountain Autos, the Royal Enfield dealer in Calicut.
A video shared on Instagram by the dealership shows the excitement surrounding the delivery. The video opens by showing AK Shaji telling the manager about the surprise gift. Then we see the bike being unwrapped by its new owner.
Before the employee receives it from the dealer, the CEO advises him to ‘not overspeed’ and to ride responsibly and carefully. The manager agrees and continues with the purchase procedures. He completes the paperwork and finally rides the motorcycle out of the showroom.
The Continental GT 650 in this case, has the Apex Grey colour scheme. The bodywork is finished in a shade of Grey, and there is a bright Orange stripe on the tank. This variant has an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.46 lakh. The on-road cost would amount to Rs 4.41 lakh in Calicut.
More About The Motorcycle
The Continental GT 650 is a cafe racer based on the 650 platform. It continues to be in good demand in the country. The outgoing model gets features like LED headlamp, cast alloy wheels, Royal Enfield’s new-age switch gear, and USB charging port for smartphones.
The motorcycle is powered by Royal Enfield’s popular 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel twin engine that’s also found in the Interceptor, Super Meteor, and the Classic 650. On the GT, it produces 47hp and 52Nm of torque. Royal Enfield has also given the GT ‘piggy-back’ gas-charged twin shocks at the rear, for optimised comfort and dynamics.
Anniversary Gift: Volkswagen Golf GTI
This CEO had previously made headlines by gifting his beloved wife a brand-new VW Golf GTI on their anniversary. This too, was a surprise, a video of which was later shared online. It starts by showing the car parked outside their home, kept covered by a beautiful White veil which even has a Volkswagen logo on it.
Shaji and his wife are then seen walking towards the car. Together, they get the cover off, revealing a Golf GTI finished in Red. The dealer staff then hands over the vehicle keys to Mrs. Shaji. The family later celebrates both the anniversary and their new car by cutting a cake.
The video also shows the CEO’s wife checking out the car in detail. She starts and revs the engine as well. This performance hatchback is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged petrol (TSI) engine that produces 265 PS and 370 Nm. The GTI seems to excite the CEO’s wife, and the video ends by showing her driving it.
Mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, the 2.0 TSI engine can make the GTI do 0-100 kph in just 5.9 seconds. It has a top speed of 250 kph.
The Golf is shipped in via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, and therefore has a premium pricing in the Indian market. It costs Rs 52.9 lakh, ex-showroom. Despite the same, the car has had immense acceptance here. The first batch was completely sold out sooner than expected. This anniversary gift indeed had a degree of exclusivity to it.
