Reckless riding and doing stunts on public roads can be dangerous. Kerala police recently booked a youngster for riding his KTM Duke recklessly and causing inconvenience to the people around.

This incident happened on Friday, in Malappuram's Tanur. The identity of the arrested youth isn't known yet. He rode his Duke recklessly through Tanur's beach road, aggressively overtaking a private bus. He stopped right in front of it, in a dangerous way. The guy then got down and started shouting at the bus driver. The entire action was recorded by the CCTV installed in the bus.

This incident has a back story. Before this stunt occurred, the bus driver and the bike rider were reportedly involved in a heated argument. This happened at the previous bus stop.

The accused stopped his bike so aggressively that the bus had to do a panic braking to avoid running him over. The people inside- including women and children- even got injured in the sudden jolt. The video of this incident soon surfaced online. It went viral and soon reached the notice of the state police. A probe was soon initiated, leading to the youth's detention. The state police department's social media handle soon shared a meme based on the incident.

The video shows the CCTV footage, the damage it did to the people in the bus, and finally how the accused was detained. It shows him standing before the Deputy Superintendent of Police. The reel is now racking up views online.

Kerala police is quite active on social media, and is known for sharing funny memes and videos depicting their own efficiency, issues that are relevant to the larger public and raising public awareness.

While we know that the guy has been arrested, the exact details of the charges against him remain unknown. Cases of reckless driving/ riding are usually charged under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) ( dealing with rash and negligent driving) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act (dealing with dangerous driving on public roads). However, considering the backstory here, more charges could be placed against the accused in this case. The specifics of this could surface in the upcoming days.

Not The First Time

This isn't the first time that we've seen KTM riders landing themselves in trouble for riding irresponsibly. In previous cases, we saw a KTM RC rider ride recklessly on a public road, on the wrong side. He was seen riding on a two-lane highway, on the right lane and against the traffic. Cars, bikes and buses could be seen coming against him. The video of this 'action' was recorded and shared on social media. It soon caught the attention of the officials.

Further investigation revealed that the person doing this stunt was a 22-year-old boy. He had bought the motorcycle just six months before this incident. The motorcycle did not have a number plate at the time of the incident, and this made tracking it down difficult. The police department used social media and CCTV footage from around the place to find the rider. He was then arrested and the motorcycle seized.

Kerala has reported multiple such incidents in the past. The law enforcement agencies have been quite strict against violators. In many cases, the driving licenses of the violators were suspended and registrations of the vehicles involved were cancelled.
