Careless Biker Crashes Into Multi-Crore Bentley While Trying To Overtake [Video]
Indian roads are full of surprises. Bikers riding recklessly and causing inconvenience to others are sadly a common sight on our roads. An aggressive riding style along with impatience often leads to accidents, and we have seen several videos in the past proving the same. Here we have one such video where a careless—or rather reckless—biker crashes into a multi-crore Bentley sedan while trying to overtake a car on a narrow road.
The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. It is from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The whole incident was captured on the dash camera of a car that was passing through the same road. As the car was at a distance, the actual crash is not clearly visible.
If you zoom in, you can see the crash in a blurred manner. In the video, we see a bunch of vehicles passing through the narrow two-lane road. In fact, the road looks far too busy for just two lanes. Trucks, cars, and bikes can be seen moving from both directions, making overtaking a risky task.
At a distance, we see a Maruti Swift overtaking a vehicle in front. However, the biker who was right behind the Swift also had the same idea and decided to overtake the Swift. In doing so, he attempted to overtake a vehicle that was already overtaking another vehicle.
The biker blindly entered the opposite lane without checking for oncoming traffic. The moment he did, he spotted a luxury car coming towards him. The biker probably slammed the brakes, but it was of no use. The Maruti Swift driver was also overtaking and may have been at fault as well since he was trying to squeeze his car through a narrow gap.
The biker hit the brakes but failed to stop and crashed into the Bentley. Both he and the bike fell onto the road.
The video mentions that the biker most likely broke his leg in the accident. Soon after the crash, the security staff from the Bentley came out, scolded the Swift driver, and also helped the biker. The dash cam car did not stop and continued on its way.
We are not sure, but the bike seen in the video looks like a commuter segment model, possibly a Hero Splendor. The Bentley’s bumper appears damaged and likely has multiple scratches and dents too.
If you notice, the biker was not wearing any kind of safety gear. He was not even wearing a helmet, which is one of the main reasons he got injured. Thankfully, he didn’t hit his head on the road, as that could have made things much worse. The chances of a head injury are extremely high in a fall like this, and we really hope the rider escaped without one.
The biker should have been far more careful while overtaking. He shouldn’t have been impatient. He was riding a commuter bike, which isn’t very powerful. Always know the limitations of your machine and ride accordingly. Had he slowed down and given the Swift driver time to complete his overtake, he might not have ended up in the crash in the first place. The Swift driver too should have followed lane discipline and waited until it was clear for him to overtake.
