Parades are a crucial part of Republic Day and Independence Day. The part that most of us eagerly wait for in most parades is the section where trained professionals perform stunts on bikes. These professionals are actually cops who are trained to do such stunts. Here we have one such video from Tamil Nadu where cops are seen training for a stunt parade ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

The video has been shared by Streets of Trichy on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a group of cops doing stunts on Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles. We see the riders sitting on the footrests, lying on the seat, and even standing on the seat with one leg while riding the bike, and so on.

Apart from this, they are also riding the same bikes in formation. The men you see here are actually Railway Police officers, and they are training for the upcoming Independence Day parade where they have to perform.

The practice session does look fun as the officers are trying different types of stunts on the bikes. It should be noted that these stunts are traditionally done on Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles, and this is no different. Even here, they are using Bullet motorcycles to train, and we assume that the same bikes will be used for the final act as well. While the training session looks fun, there are a couple of things that caught our attention in this video.

None of the officers who are training for this stunt are wearing a riding helmet. In fact, none of them are wearing any kind of safety gear at all. We assume that wearing safety gear would restrict their arm and leg movement, but there is no excuse for not wearing a proper helmet.

The stunts they are doing are dangerous, and the chances of them falling from the bike are pretty high. While we understand that they are trained professionals, the chances of an accident happening during training cannot be ruled out. To protect them from any kind of head injury, it is always a good idea to wear a helmet.

It should also be noted that the officers are training for the parade on a private ground. It is probably the same ground where they will be asked to perform as part of the parade.

The comment section under this video is also filled with several reactions. One of the comments in Tamil roughly translates to, “When they (cops) do it, it’s professional. When we do it, we get fined.” Another says, “Would be better if these cops get some good gear and shoes. Fantastic work guys.” Most of the comments point out the fact that the officers are not wearing helmets.

Coming back to the video, the page has posted it with a caption that says, Do not try this on roads. Doing such stunts on public roads is not only an offence but also dangerous. The chances of stunts going wrong are pretty high, and because of one irresponsible act, other innocent road users will have to suffer. If you are caught doing such stunts, cops can actually seize your car or bike and issue a fine for the same.
