Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Electric Sportsbike Ownership Review After 75,000 Kilometres [Video]

The Ultraviolette F77 is one of the fastest electric two-wheelers in India. Ultraviolette (UV) launched the first generation in November 2022. The second generation, called Mach 2, was introduced in April 2024. An owner who took delivery of the motorcycle in May 2024, has now come up with a detailed ownership review after covering 75,000 km on the EV!
A video shared on the channel Bulu Pattnaik explains how Harish Surampade from Bengaluru, is having an exciting time with his Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2. He has taken the motorcycle to most parts of India. He says that long distance touring feels like a breeze with the F77 Mach 2. He has bought the range-topping Recon variant of the EV, equipped with all possible accessories.
Harish took delivery of the electric motorcycle on May 17, 2024. Interestingly, he had made the reservation on March 2024. It was the first-gen bike that was on sale back then. The Mach 2 was launched on April 25, 2024. Harish asked the dealership for an upgrade to Mach 2, which was duly given at no extra cost.
He says that the first ride that he did was a Bengaluru- Kolkata road trip that spanned 4,400 km. He set out on this journey without any pre-planning. It took six days for him to get there, due to some unprecedented delay at Vizag. It taught him the lesson that if we use the right strategy in locating them, it is possible to find chargers in almost all places. It also gave him the confidence to jump on road trips anytime he felt like doing so.
He later rode to cities like Kochi, Hyderabad, Vizag, etc, which he fondly calls 'short trips' as they spanned roughly 2000 km. He has also covered the entire west coast on the motorcycle. On such long trips, Harish says that he may cover up to 650 kilometres on long rides. The average, however, is around 500 km.
On challenging terrains and routes, it could drop to 400-odd km. The actual distance doable per day depends on various factors like the road and kind of places he travels on and through, temperature and available charging infrastructure.
This rider always keeps an eye on the power consumption (watt hours per km) while riding, instead of the speed. This varies with the harshness of throttle inputs and on the kind of terrain/ road the vehicle travels on.
He further makes careful use of the vehicle's regeneration technology to maximise the range. He says on most trips, he needs just one charger a day. Harish further says that the charging infrastructure has been developing rapidly. Many states already have proper charge-covers!
He further advises that one shouldn't hesitate to approach people and request politely for a charger, when he/she is out on a road trip with an electric motorcycle/ scooter. He himself has reportedly been able to charge from a welding shop and even a temple!
Talking further about the charger network, this owner explains that Bengaluru has a few Supernova Plus chargers- one at the UV hangar and the second near Chitradurga. Now, that's a solid weekend ride plan for UV owners in Bengaluru.
This F77 Mach 2 owner is very confident about the battery life, charge-discharge cycles and warranty offered. He says that nothing much has changed even after putting so many kilometres on the odometer.
The Ultraviolette F77 and the Mach 2 come with a rather aggressive (committed) riding position. Harish says that he initially found it painful on long rides. But as time passed by and kilometres racked up, he got accustomed to it.
Talking of reliability, he confidently says that whatever the external conditions are, 'nothing' will happen to the motorcycle. The company's support system has been very helpful in fixing minor niggles, which again, have been very limited in number.
In his closing remarks, this F77 Mach 2 owner says that this motorcycle is very advanced and further adds that he would recommend it to anyone planning to buy an electric motorcycle.
