2024 TVS Jupiter 110 Review: A Handsome Scooter with Smart Features

The new TVS Jupiter is selling well in India. We rode it at the TVS test track last year and recently got to test the scooter at our base. Here's everything we have to say after using it for about a week.
TVS has introduced four variants of the new Jupiter, and we got the chance to ride the fully equipped top-spec.
The Jupiter has always been a good-looking scooter. The past models had a rather simple and basic design. The new iteration, however, has a bold and modern look with sharp design elements that make it stand out.
It has full-width LED light bars at the front and rear, which TVS calls ‘Infinity Lamps.’ These also include built-in LED turn indicators. The scooter also has sleek Piano Black trims and stylish body panels.
The rear light bar neatly integrates the brake and turn signal lamps, adding to the overall road presence. The scooter also has the longest seat in its segment—756 mm, ensuring great comfort for both the rider and the passenger.
TVS was the first brand to introduce 12-inch wheels in this segment, and this new model continues the trend. Both the front and rear wheels are 12-inch units with grippy tires, improving stability and handling.
There are six available colors Dawn Blue Matte, Galactic Copper Matte, Starlight Blue Gloss, Lunar White Gloss, Titanium Grey Matte, and Meteor Red Gloss. Dawn Blue and Galactic Copper are the new shades, with the former being particularly striking.
Just like its previous versions, the new Jupiter 110 is loaded with useful features. The digital instrument cluster shows important information like turn-by-turn navigation and call alerts. It also has good visibility even in bright sunlight. TVS has also included SmartX Connect and voice assist for added convenience.
Using the TVS mobile app, you can find your scooter in a parking lot and check important vehicle information.
The scooter also comes with hazard lights, which are controlled using the indicator switch. Press and hold it for 5-6 seconds to activate the hazard lights, and a quick tap turns them off.
For safety, the Emergency Brake Warning system turns on the hazard lights when you brake suddenly, alerting vehicles behind you.
The Jupiter has always been a highly practical scooter, and this version is no different. It has a spacious 33-litre under-seat storage, enough to fit two half-face helmets. Other convenient features include a glove box, a bag hook, and a USB charging port near the keyhole.
The new Jupiter 110 gets a number of important mechanical upgrades. It now has an improved chassis, taken from the Jupiter 125, which is more rigid and lighter. The fuel tank is placed under the floorboard, lowering the scooter’s center of gravity for better stability and control.
Under the hood, there’s a new 113.3cc engine with iGO Assist, a micro-hybrid technology that improves both performance and fuel efficiency.
The Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) system, which TVS calls the 'iGO Assist', has three key parts:
This system provides an extra boost of power, adding 0.6 Nm of torque when needed. This helps when accelerating from a stop or while overtaking other vehicles. While this feature does use battery power, TVS says the iGO battery recharges in just 1-2 minutes.
The engine has also been designed for better efficiency. It has a low-inertia crankshaft and low-friction pistons, helping it run smoothly and last longer.
First, we tested the new Jupiter on the TVS test track in Hosur, which has long straights and sweeping corners. The scooter feels quick and smooth. With the throttle fully open, we reached 85 km/h, and the scooter remained stable even at high speeds. TVS’s ‘Body Balance 2.0’ technology works well, making the ride more comfortable and controlled.
The Jupiter also handles well around corners. The low center of gravity, strong suspension, and grippy tyres make it easy to maneuver.
Braking is also impressive, with petal disc brakes at the front providing strong stopping power. The Emergency Brake Warning system works exactly as expected, improving safety.
The iGO Assist system definitely improves performance. The power boost is noticeable, even if it doesn’t last long. Thankfully, the quick battery recharge means you won’t have to wait long for the next boost.
Back at base, we got to do extensive real-world testing with the scooter. It performs well on highways. Especially at traffic junctions and signals, the iGO Assist offers meaty acceleration. The scooter feels good to ride in tight city traffic. The only thing we think could have been better is the iGo Assist. It isn't too intrusive in most cases. However, sometimes the system feels slightly ( and we are talking about micro seconds!) slow to get the engine back to life.
We like the comfort and ride quality offered by the vehicle. Both the rider and pillion get to enjoy comfortable rides, even on bad patches.
TVS claims the Jupiter to be 10% more fuel efficient than the one it replaces. During our time with it, we found the scooter to deliver an indicated mileage of up to 51 kpl. This, of course depends heavily on throttle inputs and riding behaviour. On an average, the (indicated) fuel efficiency we got was 46 kpl.
The 2024 TVS Jupiter 110 is a great choice for anyone looking for a stylish, practical, and feature-packed family scooter. It delivers a premium feel, solid performance, and useful technology while maintaining its reputation for reliability, fuel efficiency and convenience. An already good scooter made even better!
