Bajaj first launched the Dominar 400 in India in 2016. Now the bike maker is readying a major update to the already popular power cruiser. With days left for the actual market launch, the first ride review of the 2025 Bajaj Dominar is out, showing the changes that are to be expected alongside actual ride impressions.

Watch on YouTube

These details stem from a video shared on the YouTube channel Dino's Vault. It shows the host checking out the motorcycle, pin-pointing the changes. To begin with, the 2025 Dominar gets a new instrument cluster- a fully digital unit. It is similar to what you see on the Pulsar NS400Z.

The predecessor used to come with a secondary display on the tank. Bajaj has removed this on the new bike. It, in fact, used to be a signature feature of the Dominar and could have thus been retained. Afterall, how many kilos would you save by killing a good-looking tiny display?

The new Dominar's instrument cluster gets Bluetooth Connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation as well. Furthermore, it comes with adjustable levers, knuckle guards, good-quality switchgear, an Aluminium bash plate, a crash guard and more.

The motorcycle now gets more electronics. It gets switchable traction control and ABS modes. There are four riding modes on offer- Road, Sport, Rain and Offroad. It is only in the Off-road mode that you would be able to switch off traction control. Ride mode selection and traction control switching can all be done through the instrument cluster.

The 2025 update has instilled more touring character in the Dominar. The motorcycle now comes with a large windscreen which is very functional, as the host says in the video. The tank capacity could, however, be slightly better. It is currently 13 litres. Pumping it up to 15L would make this a better tourer!

For added user convenience, Bajaj has given the new Dominar USB charging port. The updated Dominar also features a pillion backrest and saddle stays for carrying luggage safely.

The new motorcycle continues to be powered by the same 373.3 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, engine as before. This powertrain has, however, been updated with OBD-2B tech and no major mechanical overhauls. The outgoing model has 39.42 bhp and 35 Nm on offer. The peak torque comes at 6,500 rpm. These remain untouched on the new bike. The transmission continues to be the familiar 6-speed unit.

The host says that the new Dominar is effortless to ride, despite it being on the heavier side in terms of kerb weight. The acceleration continues to be 'intense' and the motorcycle feels well planted at speeds. The new iteration doesn't lose out on character, says the host.

He further remarks that the transmission is smooth and precise. There are no false neutrals or clunky shifts. The ride and handling are also well-sorted. The front brake gets a 320mm rotor and the overall braking character instills much confidence in the rider. The size and design of the front windscreen make sure that the rider stays clear of any major wind blasts.

Just like what the video presenter says in his first ride review, the Dominar 400 deserves more praise and attention for the excellent product that it is, and Bajaj should consider marketing it stronger, in the days to come.
