Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the 2025 Honda NX200 ADV, an adventure-style motorcycle priced at Rs 1,68,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This launch marks the rebranding of the CB200X, aligning it with Honda’s NX series. The NX200 is now available at HMSI’s Red Wing and BigWing dealerships across India.

The new NX200 continues to draw inspiration from its larger sibling, the Honda NX500, featuring a muscular fuel tank, bold graphics, and an aggressive stance. The motorcycle is equipped with an all-LED headlamp, sleek LED indicators, and a distinctive X-shaped LED tail lamp, enhancing both visibility and aesthetics.

What’s New and How It Differs from CB200X

Despite the rebranding, the Honda NX200 remains largely identical to the CB200X with only minor feature updates. It is powered by the same 184.4cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, fuel-injected engine, now compliant with OBD2B norms. The engine produces 12.5 kW (16.76 bhp) at 8,500 RPM and 15.7 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 RPM, paired with a 5-speed gearbox equipped with an Assist & Slipper Clutch. This setup ensures smooth gear shifts and prevents rear-wheel locking during aggressive downshifting, making it ideal for both city and highway riding.

Honda NX200 engine, brakes and suspension

The NX200 carries forward the same suspension setup, featuring USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, now enhanced with dual-channel ABS, a notable upgrade from the CB200X’s single-channel setup. The bike also comes with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), offering better rear-wheel traction across varying road conditions.

In terms of rider convenience, Honda has introduced a new 4.2-inch full-digital TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and Honda RoadSync support, enabling navigation, call notifications, and SMS alerts. A USB Type-C charging port has also been added, allowing riders to charge their devices on the go.

Speaking on the launch, Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, HMSI, stated, “At Honda, we have always pushed the boundaries of innovation to meet the evolving demands of customers. The All-New NX200 is a perfect embodiment of our commitment to deliver thrilling motorcycles which our customers demand. Inspired by the legendary NX500, the NX200 brings the thrill of exploration to a wider audience, ensuring an unmatched riding experience in every journey.”

Yogesh Mathur, Director, Sales & Marketing, HMSI, added, “We are delighted to introduce the All-New NX200, a motorcycle designed for those who seek adventure and freedom on two wheels. With its striking design, thrilling performance, and cutting-edge technology, the NX200 is set to redefine the riding experience for enthusiasts across India.”

The NX200 is available in three color options: Athletic Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.

Competition

The Honda NX200 enters the entry-level adventure touring segment, competing against motorcycles such as the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

The Hero Xpulse 200 4V, priced at Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom), is a more off-road-oriented machine, offering higher ground clearance and a 21-inch front wheel, making it a better fit for adventure enthusiasts who prioritize trail riding. Meanwhile, the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, at Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom), offers a more powerful 250cc engine and superior highway performance. On the higher end, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 (Rs 2.80 lakh, ex-showroom) provides serious touring capability but comes at a significantly higher price.

The 2025 Honda NX200 arrives just in time for Valentine’s Day, making it a great option for those looking to gift themselves or their loved ones the thrill of adventure. While it doesn’t introduce groundbreaking changes over the CB200X, it aligns with Honda’s NX branding and offers enhanced safety features such as dual-channel ABS and HSTC. The inclusion of a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB charging port also makes it more appealing for modern riders.

For urban commuters and casual tourers who want an adventure-styled motorcycle with Honda’s reliability and refined performance, the NX200 remains a compelling choice in its segment.
