The Italian superbike manufacturer Aprilia launched the RS457 middleweight superbike back in December 2023. It quickly gained a lot of popularity in the country, and many people bought this motorcycle despite its steep price tag. Now, although there are many people who cannot stop praising this superbike, there are a few owners who have shared their gripes with this bike. Recently, a video of one such Aprilia RS457 owner who sold his bike has been shared online.

This video, discussing all the positives and negatives of the Aprilia RS457, has been shared on YouTube by Farhan Khan on his channel. For those who may not be aware, he is a used superbike dealer who is also an avid motorcycle enthusiast and owns a few other superbikes. In this video, he shares all the things he loved and hated about his RS457. He also highlights why he sold the bike.

First off, the rider starts by talking about the positives of the Aprilia RS457. He states that the Aprilia RS457 is an overall phenomenal bike. It offers a great and powerful 457cc motor that produces 47 bhp. The bike also feels very light and agile due to its aluminum frame. He also highlights that the handling is great and that it feels planted on highways. Additionally, the bike also sounds very nice, added the vlogger.

Negatives

However, despite having a ton of positives, the ex-RS457 owner stated that there are a lot of negatives to this bike as well. He started by stating that his Aprilia RS457 gave him endless troubles. The owner stated that the first thing he did not like about the bike was its braking. As per the owner, the brakes felt weak and he had to upgrade them to feel more confident. Next up he added that his engine had an issue at just 6,000 km mark.

He highlighted that the he had to replace assembly cylinder head. Also the owner mentions that Aprilia blamed him for installing FuelX Pro+ is a plug-in fuel-injection optmizer. The vlogger also highlighted that a lot of other people also blamed him for installing FuelX Pro on his RS457 which caused it have a lot of problems. However, he then stated that now a number of stock RS457s with just 2,000 or little more kms are having the same issues.

Moving on, the owner also stated that he took his bike to the Aprilia dealership and even after replacing the assembly cylinder head his bike had a new issue. He stated that his bike's timing chain tensioner started making noise. As result he had to wait for two weeks and despite that none of the dealerships had the part. The owner stated that the dealerships told him that the part has not arrived from the company.

Next up he added that the Aprilia staff he was dealing with asked him to bring the bike to the dealership which was far off from him. He stated that he has a dealership very close to him, yet he was asked to go the one that was far away for every small niggle. As a result of this growing frustration and reliability issues. The owner decided to sell of his bike, just like many other RS457 owners.

Also Owns an Aprilia RSV4 Factory

Farhan Khan, apart from the Aprilia RS457, also owns an Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory. In fact, he was the first person in India to own both the RS457 and RSV4 at the same time. The RSV4 1100 Factory comes equipped with a massive 1,099cc V4 engine. It is capable of producing 220 bhp and 125 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox and includes a quick shifter as standard.

In addition to the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, Khan also owns a BMW S1000XR adventure motorcycle. This bike is one of the most capable adventure bikes on the market. Powering this bike is a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine. It produces 170 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed gearbox, and it is priced at ₹22.50 lakh.
