Generally, in India, building trust between a brand and a family is a difficult task. However, if a company can manage to build this trust, they can be guaranteed that they will receive a lot of business due to word-of-mouth publicity. Recently, Ather’s co-founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta, shared one such relationship of his company, Ather, with a Bengaluru-based family that owns 20 Ather Energy electric scooters. Yes, you heard that right—this family owns a total of 20 Ather scooters, and they are adding more.

The post, sharing the image and the story of the family that owns 20 Athers, has been shared on X by Tarun Mehta. In his post, Mehta mentioned that he met the Kothari family from Bengaluru last year at the Ather Community Day, which was held in April. He stated that, at the time, the family had 10 Ather Energy electric scooters. However, today, they have 20 electric scooters from the brand.

Tarun Mehta has also shared a video in which the Kothari family talks about their obsession with Ather Energy electric scooters. It starts off by mentioning that the Kothari family resides in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and has a thriving saree shop in the city. Their love for Ather electric scooters began with Bharat Kothari, the youngest of the 10 siblings, reserving an Ather Energy EV scooter back in 2017—even before it was officially launched.

Following this, he took delivery of the scooter in 2018, and after seeing his scooter, other family members also got interested. The video shows Saurabh Kothari mentioning that he owns three Ather scooters. After this, the entire family shows off their respective Ather scooters. One of the siblings mentions that in other families, people get clothes that have been passed on. However, in their family, it’s Athers that get passed on.

Currently, the family owns a number of Ather 450 Series scooters. These also include the newly launched Apex model, which is currently the flagship electric scooter from the brand. Additionally, one of the family members also owns an Ather Rizta, which is the brand's electric scooter designed to compete with traditional ICE scooters like the Honda Activa and Suzuki Access 125. Most likely, the family's Ather scooter collection will grow in the future. This is because there are a number of young kids in the family who, when they reach the riding age, will get new Ather electric scooters. Apart from the Kothari family, there is no other family in India that is as obsessed with Ather Energy electric scooters. 2025 Ather 450 Series Launched in India Just a few weeks ago, Ather Energy launched the new 2025 450 Series in India.
