You’ve Seen Overtaking But Have You Seen ‘Undertaking’? [Video]

In a country like India, the majority of people rely on two-wheelers to commute. For many, a car is still a luxury as it remains an expensive affair for most. However, internationally, things are slightly different. They consider biking a hobby, and most of these bikes are expensive sports or superbikes. We have come across several videos where bikers post footage of their rides and road trips. Many of them perform stunts on private properties and even crash while attempting these. They also get into trouble with the cops for speeding. We have seen people on bikes overtaking other vehicles on the road, but here we have an interesting video that shows an overtaking like no other.

The video was shared by @masface6 on their YouTube channel as a short clip. In this video, we see a biker passing through a countryside road. The exact location is not known, but it is definitely not India. The biker is behind a truck on the road when he suddenly notices a tractor with huge wheels passing through the opposite lane.

The biker was excited to see the tractor, and his immediate reaction was that he wanted to go under it. He said so because the wheels on this tractor were so large that the bike could actually go under the tractor and come out on the other side. The biker immediately slowed down and started chasing the tractor.

He was riding a naked bike with a loud exhaust. He opened the throttle and began chasing the tractor. Once the tractor was in his visibility, he started planning his move. Instead of overtaking the tractor from the left, he decided to go under it and perform an “undertaking” maneuver.

We know that might not be the correct word for it, but hey! There’s no other way to explain it. Undertaking is an act in which a motorist passes a slower-moving vehicle from the curbside of the road.

This is extremely dangerous as the driver might not notice and could unintentionally squeeze you toward the curbside, causing an accident.

In this video, the biker did not overtake the vehicle from the left or right. He went straight through the middle. In other words, the biker let his intrusive thoughts win. As he approached the tractor, he slowed down, corrected his posture, ducked, positioned the bike properly, and rode through it.

He successfully passed under the tractor and continued riding in that direction. While it may look like a fun act, we do not recommend attempting this at all. Yes, there was enough gap between the tractor’s underbody and the road, but that doesn’t mean you should ride through it. It may look good in a movie action sequence, but in real life, you could end up crashing into the vehicle and injuring yourself.

The comment section under the video is filled with remarks like, “I’ve always wanted to do that, but never been at the right place at the right time ? Thanks for the ride!”, “For those who don’t know, those sprayers don’t have as much clearance as it looks, so this is probably one of the worst ideas this fella has had in his life,” and “I want to see the reaction from the tractor driver,” and so on.
