BMW Motorrad India has launched the G310 RR Limited Edition at Rs 2.99 lakh ex-showroom. The model celebrates the brand crossing 10,000 unit sales of its fully-faired sports bike. Limited to 310 units, it comes with a numbered badge on the fuel tank to mark its exclusivity. The Limited Edition costs Rs 18,000 more than the standard variant and focuses entirely on styling updates while keeping the performance unchanged.

Styling Drawn From BMW’s M Division

The most noticeable difference is the new decal kit. Blue and red graphics stretch across the front fender, fairings, and tank, directly referencing BMW’s M division.

This design approach ties the entry-level sports bike to the more expensive S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR, superbikes that serve as BMW’s performance flagships.

Two paint options are offered: Cosmic Black and Polar White. The black base highlights the contrast of the M-inspired stripes, while the white base gives them more depth and detail.

Matching rim graphics extend the visual treatment to the wheels. Every unit carries a numbered ‘1/310’ style badge on the tank, making each motorcycle identifiable within the production run and adding an element of collectability.

Same Engine and Performance

The Limited Edition does not make any changes to the mechanical setup. It retains the 312.2cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 34 hp at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm at 7,700 rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and a race-tuned anti-hopping clutch, which reduces rear-wheel hop during hard downshifts.

Riders get four modes - Track, Sport, Urban, and Rain - that adjust throttle response and power delivery. The ride-by-wire system provides precise control, while the five-inch TFT display adapts its layout according to the mode selected. These features give the G 310 RR electronics that are usually seen on bigger, more expensive motorcycles.

Equipment and Chassis Setup

The Limited Edition continues with the same hardware package as the regular bike. Dual-channel ABS is standard, along with rear wheel lift-off protection for added braking safety. Single discs at both ends handle stopping duties.

Suspension is managed by gold USD forks at the front and an aluminium swingarm at the rear. Cooling is supported by a Ram Air intake system and gill-style vents on the fairing.

Tyres are Michelin Pilot Street radials, with a 110/70 front and 150/60 rear on 17-inch alloy wheels. The combination aims to balance grip, predictability, and handling for road and occasional track use.

Market Position and Pricing

At Rs 2.99 lakh, the Limited Edition sits above the standard G 310 RR in price but remains competitive in the 300cc supersport segment. Rivals like the TVS Apache RR 310 now offer more outright performance, with 38 hp, a quickshifter, cruise control, and even launch control. BMW, however, is focusing on build quality, brand positioning, and exclusivity rather than chasing higher power figures.

BMW India Financial Services supports the model with finance packages that include motorcycle, gear, and accessories. Buyers also receive a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, extendable to five years, along with 24×7 roadside assistance.

The BMW G 310 RR Limited Edition highlights a sales milestone with unique styling, numbered production, and a price premium that reinforces its special status. While it does not change the core performance, it offers enthusiasts a more exclusive version of BMW’s entry-level sports bike.
