CFMoto to Re-enter India

CFMoto, in order to make a grand re-entry, will be launching the 450MT adventure motorcycle in India. The main highlight of this motorcycle will be its parallel-twin engine. Presently, other popular adventure motorcycles in India, like the KTM 390 Adventure and others, come equipped with single-cylinder engines. The 450MT will get a 449cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine.

It is expected to make around 40-45 bhp of power and 40-45 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed gearbox, which will come with a slipper clutch and ride-by-wire. As for the other mechanical details, the CFMoto will come with a lightweight tubular steel chassis, long-travel USD forks, and a rear monoshock with preload adjustment.

As for the suspension travel, it will be 200mm. The 450MT will feature 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels. In terms of features, CFMoto could be offering the 450MT adventure motorcycle with a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, multiple riding modes, LED headlights and taillights, a USB charging port, and traction control.

CFMoto’s Strategy for India

With its first bike, the 450MT, CFMoto wants to target adventure motorcycle enthusiasts who are currently drawn to KTM and Royal Enfield. The Chinese bike maker will bring in the bikes via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, and they will be assembled in India. Pricing-wise, the 450MT is expected to be offered in the range of Rs 3.5 to Rs 4.5 lakh.

Additionally, bikes like the 800MT and 450SR, which is a fully-faired sports bike, could also be launched in the future.

New KTM Adventure 390 Has Been Launched

The CFMoto 450MT adventure motorcycle, as mentioned, will compete with the newly launched KTM Adventure 390. This particular bike is offered in 390 Adventure R and X variants, which are priced at Rs 3.68 lakh and Rs 2.91 lakh, respectively. In addition to these, KTM has also launched the Adventure 250 as well, which gets a price tag of Rs 2.6 lakh.

These new 390 Adventure motorcycles come powered by a 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is also seen on the 390 Duke. This motor is capable of producing 44 bhp and 39 Nm of torque and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch and a bi-directional quick-shifter.
