Hero Motocorp launched the 2025 Karizma XMR in India in April this year. The update has given the motorcycle better looks, more features and improved dynamics. Putting an end to anticipations, the manufacturer has now released the official TV commercial (TVC) of the new XMR.

Before we dive into the details of the TVC, the new XMR comes in three variants- Base, Top and the Combat edition. The Combat edition definitely tops the list with its design, features and dynamics, and is featured in the ad film as well. This ad stars Hrithik Roshan alongside the motorcycle.

The actor plays a cop in this video. It starts by showing the police waiting to intercept two men who are trying to flee, in an old BMW. It looks like an older generation 3 series with the M3 body kit. A female cop tells Hrithik that the car is driving fast. The cops scramble as the BMW evades the barricades.

Hrithik's character looks around and sees a motorcycle, kept covered on a flatbed that's parked nearby. He approaches the truck, shows his ID, and unveils the motorcycle. We then get our first look at the XMR Combat edition. We get to see the new 4.2-inch TFT screen and listen to the racy exhaust sound. We then see the motorcycle chasing the BMW. It is being ridden aggressively.

The Karizma XMR is powered by Hero's 210cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine that makes 25.2 bhp and 20.4 Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch. The chassis, wheels, and brakes remain unchanged on the new model.

We further get to see the motorcycle riding around corners and doing slick lane changes on the video, in an effort to chase the car down. We see how agile it has become, with the addition of USD forks at the front. These come with a Golden finish, and are available only on the 'Top' and the 'Combat Edition' variants. In addition to improving the dynamics, these make the bike look more aggressive as well.

The action continues and in the final few scenes, we see the motorcycle doing a front wheel stoppie before the car, bringing it to a complete lock. The other policemen arrive at the scene and book the offenders. The female cop then asks Hrithik's character to get in her car. The actor replies 'No, this is too much fun'.

Hrithik Roshan has been the face of the 'Karizma' sub-brand since its India debut in the early 2000s. Even when the bikemaker revived the moniker in 2023, he was associated with it. Previous ads starring him and various Karizma motorcycles have also been quite popular among fans. The 'Jet Set Go' and 'Car Flip' commercials are notable examples.

The Road Ahead For The Karizma XMR

With the 2025 update, Hero Motocorp has tried to give the motorcycle a second inning. The sales of the XMR have been low and it remains to be seen if the updated version can bring a difference. The expanding network of Hero's premia retailer network will further aid in the sales revival.

Talking prices, the Base variant has an ex-showroom price of 1.81 lakh, the Top is priced at 1.99 lakh ex-showroom and the Combat Edition costs 2.01 lakh, ex-showroom. In the upcoming years, Hero is expected to replace the Karizma XMR 210 with the XMR 250 which would come with a larger engine and more oomph.
