Hero Motocorp's electric two-wheeler vertical Vida is all set to commence its latest product launch(es) in the Indian market on July 1. With weeks left for the event, the manufacturer has been actively releasing various teasers on social media. The upcoming product will target cost-conscious buyers and have several similarities with the V2 that's currently on sale.

In the latest teaser, we get to see a new colour shade of the upcoming electric scooter, along with its headlamp design. It is expected to be squarish and will have LED elements inside. The colour shown in the newest teaser is a bright shade of Red. We don't get to see much of the side design though.

Before the manufacturer started releasing teaser images online, the scooter was spotted without camouflage. The leaked images revealed many of its design cues and features. The new Vida scooter will have a TFT dashboard that's smaller than the one found on the outgoing V2 and with no touch function. It will have a physical keyhole ( no keyless ignition) and various other cost-cutting measures as well.

Going by the leaked images, the new Vida scooter will likely use the same alloy wheels as the V2. It could also offer battery choices, as confirmed by the 'Plus' identifier on the leaked pictures. The Vida V2 comes with three battery pack choices and three variants- V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro.

The new product (s) will, however, be underpinned by the newly developed ACPD platform which has a strong focus on cost-effectiveness. Hero hasn't revealed further details of this platform or the powertrain(s).

Reports suggest that the VX2 could come with removable battery packs, with 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh capacities. The larger of these could deliver a range of around 100 km per charge.

In an earnings call recently. Hero Vida officials had revealed that the company will launch two new affordable electric scooters in India in July. Now, we have an official launch date- July 1, 2025. It, however, remains unclear if Vida is planning to launch two different scooters or two variants of the same EV.

Vida's Plans With The New Scooter

When launched, the new scooter could likely have an ex-showroom price of Rs 65,000. The manufacturer will price it competitively and close to petrol scooters. The key rivals to the VX2 will be the Ola S1X and the TVS iQube with the 2kWh battery pack.

The company currently has 203 Vida outlets and is actively expanding its retail presence in the country. It will also try to ramp up the production to over 15,000 units per month.

The Hype Is Building Up!

Hero Motocorp and Vida have been building up hype around the new scooter. The company recently roped in Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor as its brand faces. The manufacturer then released a teaser featuring these actors.

It recreated some of the dialogues from the Bollywood movie Animal which had them in lead roles. The teaser is based on the concept of generational gap and associated interests. The young Ranbir Kapoor in it, suggests buying the new electric scooter (the VX2) while Anil Kapoor who plays his father, prefers to buy a petrol scooter.
