The XPulse 200 is one of the top-selling motorcycles from Hero Motocorp. It sweetly fits into the budget-conscious ADV buyer’s criteria and this is one major reason for the heightened acceptance. The Indian manufacturer is known to be working on a bigger ADV and revealed the XPulse 210 at EICMA this year. With time still left for its market launch, Hero Motocorp has now launched a special edition of the outgoing motorcycle in India. It is priced at Rs 1.67 lakh (Ex-sh), which translates to a slight premium over the Pro variant.

The Dakar edition is based on the Xpulse Pro variant and gets no mechanical changes or feature additions over the same. It comes in just a single colourway- Gloss Goldfish Silver. The XPulse Pro is India’s most affordable off-roader with fully adjustable suspension and the Dakar edition builds further on this value quotient.

This limited-run edition celebrates Hero’s history and the recent podium in Dakar. The manufacturer bagged top-10 spots in the rally thrice in the past. In 2024, they took a podium by coming second. The Dakar edition celebrates this. The motorcycle gets a special Dakar livery and a few other cosmetic upgrades.

Hero Motocorp has released a promo video featuring the vehicle alongside Ross Branch, the rider who finished 2nd on Hero’s Dakar bike. He is seen riding the Dakar edition Xpulse on a terrain that resembles a desert and goes vocal about how cool it is. Ross is seen doing some serious dune bashing.

The bike in the video wears Maxxis knobby off-road tyres. There is no confirmation on whether these would be offered on the production bike. The cosmetic upgrades are more or less limited to the decals, and the basic bodywork remains unchanged.

Since it is based on the Pro variant, the Dakar edition will also come with the same high seat height of 885mm, handlebar risers, three ABS modes: Road, Off-road, and Rally, a ground clearance of 270mm, and fully adjustable front and rear suspension setups. Both the rebound and compression of the front forks can be adjusted, while the rebound and pre-load of the rear setup can be altered as well. The front offers 250 mm of travel and the rear offers a travel of 220 mm.

Hero introduced OBD-2 compliance and E20 compatibility on the XPulse in early 2023. The motorcycle continues to be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder 4V/cyl oil-cooled engine that generates 19.1hp and 17.35Nm. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox.

Currently, the XPulse range starts at Rs 1.52 lakh, ex-showroom, and the range-topping Pro variant tips the scale at 1.65 lakh ex-sh. With the Dakar Edition rolling out, the price effective price could go up to 1.67 or 1.68 lakh.

What To Expect On The Xpulse 210?

Hero is set to give the Xpulse the air/oil-cooled engine from the Karizma XMR. This 210cc motor would produce 24.6hp and 20.7Nm. This, if you see, is a lower power output than what this engine produces on the XMR. The torque remains the same in both cases though. The motorcycle would have suspension travels of 210mm and 205mm at the front and rear respectively, and a switchable ABS as well. Wheel sizes would be 21-inch at the front and 18-inch at the rear. It will also have a new 4.2-inch TFT dash. Hero is expected to launch this motorcycle in India soon.
