Over the last few years, electric scooters have come a long way. The average price of a premium electric scooter in India is around Rs 1.5 lakh. However, earlier this month, BMW Motorrad launched its super expensive and unconventional electric scooter—the BMW CE-02. As stated, this unique EV scooter has been launched with a price tag of Rs 4.5 lakh.
To the untrained eye, it may resemble the Honda Navi scooter/bike. However, it is a lot different and boasts a ton of premium design elements. At the front, there is a rectangular LED headlight with a windscreen. It also has a raised handlebar, which offers a better grip.
The BMW CE-02 is based on a double-loop frame made up of tubular steel. In total, it weighs around 142 kg. This unique electric scooter is manufactured in India and has been designed from the ground up. As for the features, it comes equipped with a 3.5-inch TFT instrument console, Bluetooth interface, and SP Connect smartphone holder.

Coming to the powertrain option, the BMW Motorrad CE-02 is offered with an 11 kW electric motor which powers the rear wheels. It can do a sprint of 0–50 kmph in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 95 kmph. As for the battery, it comes equipped with a 3.9 kWh battery pack which offers a range of 108 km (as per ICAT).
Back in July of this year, BMW also launched the CE-04 electric scooter. This is currently the most expensive electric scooter on sale in India. The BMW CE-04 is priced at Rs 14.9 lakh. It comes powered by a massive 31 kW electric motor capable of producing 41 bhp and 61 Nm of torque.
It can perform a sprint of 0–50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 kmph. In terms of features, this futuristic-looking electric scooter comes with a 10.25-inch TFT, Automatic Stability Control (ASC) with Dynamic Traction Control. It also has three riding modes—Eco, Road, and Rain as standard, with an optional Dynamic mode as part of the Dynamic Package.
