Tree Falls On Moving Bike: Live Footage

Kerala is experiencing heavy rainfall and strong winds. Educational institutions in many districts have declared holidays due to these ongoing weather conditions. Traveling in such conditions becomes a challenge, especially when you are on a two-wheeler. The chances of accidents and losing control of the vehicle are pretty high in such cases. Here we have a video from Kerala where a biker miraculously escaped an accident after a tree fell on the road.
The video has been circulating on various social media platforms. The video seen here has been shared by Asianet News on their Instagram page. The incident took place in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala this week. The whole incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed on the roadside.
We see a section of a fairly empty Punalur-Muvattupuzha state highway. Suddenly the weather changes, and we see heavy winds and rains approaching the area. Within seconds, the whole road is wet, and we see a bike passing through the road. Just as the biker was passing, the heavy wind forced an areca nut palm to break and fall on the road.
The tree fell right next to the biker. The biker narrowly escaped this accident. He, along with the pillion, definitely got scared, but they didn’t lose balance and fall on the road. They gained control and continued to ride the bike. There was a Toyota Innova right behind the bike, and the driver stopped the car just in time.
The biker narrowly escaped the accident. The biker and the pillion were probably not injured in any manner, as the palm simply brushed against the bike and did not hit the biker. This is why it is not recommended to go out for a drive or ride during heavy rains or winds.
In this case, the weather changed within a matter of seconds. We could see that the road was completely dry when the video started, and within seconds, the wind brought in clouds and completely soaked the road.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, stating that heavy rain is likely to continue in Kerala until July 22. IMD revised its forecast and issued an orange alert in eight districts: Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
Traveling to hill stations or driving through hilly roads should be avoided during these times as the risk of landslides due to heavy rainfall is pretty high. People should also refrain from entering water bodies and rivers during the rainy season to avoid any accidents.
If you are driving during the rainy season, there are a few things that you should keep in check. Always maintain a steady speed. During the rainy season, reduce your speed on the road by 50 percent, as visibility during this time is low.
Get your vehicle inspected to ensure it doesn’t break down on the road. While you are at it, also check the health of your car’s tires. Never drive through waterlogged roads, and look for alternate routes. Never overspeed, as it might lead to aquaplaning, damaging the vehicle and injuring yourself and others.
