The British superbike manufacturer Norton recently confirmed that it will be making its official debut in India by the end of 2025. It has now been revealed that the company will be launching its V4 superbike in the country. Prior to this, it was reported by TVS Motor Company that two Norton motorcycles (flagship V4 and a single- or twin-cylinder bike) will be launched in India. These bikes will be locally manufactured in India at TVS’s Hosur plant.

As per a spokesperson from TVS, the Norton V4 and other bikes from the brand will benefit from the India-UK Free Trade Agreement. It has been mentioned that Norton will likely launch either the V4 SV, which is a fully faired superbike, or the V4 CE, which is a café racer that was unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo earlier this year.

Both of these bikes are ultra-premium motorcycles, which will come powered by a powerful 1200cc V4 engine. This motor will be capable of producing a whopping 185 bhp at 12,000 rpm and 125 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. They will also be equipped with CNC billet aluminum swingarms, Öhlins suspension, and Brembo brakes. As for the chassis, it will be made from high-end aluminum. Internationally, these bikes are priced at €42,000, which is around Rs 40 lakh.

The TVS spokesperson stated, “Two exciting models will be launched towards the end of this year, including a flagship superbike. We are in advanced stages of preparing to launch them into the market. As we gear up for this exciting offering, our efforts will be focused towards delivering differentiated retail experiences that reflect the brand’s philosophy of ‘Design, Dynamism, and Detail.’ A differentiated channel is in the works and more details will be revealed in due course.”

TVS has confirmed the entry of Norton into India and has highlighted that the brand will have its own differentiated sales and retail channel. The company will be initially launching the flagship V4 superbike, following which it will be launching a bike for the masses, which will either be a single-cylinder or twin-cylinder motorcycle. Once launched in India, Norton motorcycles will compete with rivals including Triumph, Harley-Davidson, and Royal Enfield.

The new bikes from Norton will be manufactured in TVS's Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu, and the company has been investing a lot more into the brand to make sure that it can become a hit in the Indian market. For those who may not be aware, Norton was purchased by TVS back in 2020 for Rs 153 crore. Since then, the company has invested over Rs 1,000 crore into the brand for its revival.

It has been focusing on fixing the legacy product issues and re-establishing the Norton brand with European design and engineering. TVS is also working on scaling the operations. As per the company, Norton’s Solihull facility in the United Kingdom will not be shut down and operations will continue. This dual production will ensure that the premium global quality standards are maintained and costs are reduced.
