TVS MD Sudarshan Venu Spotted Riding Upcoming Norton V4 Superbike Before India Launch

Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company acquired British motorcycle brand Norton back in 2020. The brand had also confirmed that they would be launching Norton motorcycles in India and even gave a timeline for the same. TVS confirmed that Norton bikes are expected to be launched in India towards the end of 2025. Recently, a set of images surfaced online where TVS MD Sudarshan Venu is seen testing Norton’s upcoming motorcycle, the V4, abroad before its launch in India.
Norton is planning to make its official debut in India this year, and their upcoming motorcycle, the Norton V4, is likely to be unveiled on November 4. TVS MD was seen riding the same motorcycle somewhere in the UK. The V4 is a superbike, and the spy pictures confirm the same. In the images, we see Sudarshan Venu riding the bike in one picture, while in another, we see him sitting on the bike with his helmet off.
The motorcycle will get a sleek and sharp-looking design with fairing and an aggressive riding position. The recently leaked images also suggest that the bike will come with an underbelly exhaust, like the one seen in the Panigale.
The Norton V4 is going to be a superbike, and there were reports suggesting that TVS is planning to manufacture Nortons in India. However, we feel the Norton V4 is not going to be one of them. The motorcycle is likely to be launched in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), and they might consider manufacturing it in India at a later stage.
If they manage to manufacture the motorcycle in India, TVS and Norton can actually give many foreign brands a run for their money, as they would be in a position to launch the models at an aggressive price tag.
The Norton V4 is powered by a 1,200cc, 72-degree V4 engine. The engine is expected to get tweaks for better performance. It will meet Euro 5+ emission norms, which would allow them to enter European markets.
The Norton V4 is expected to offer features that most modern-day superbikes have. The motorcycle is not going to be something that we would call affordable. However, TVS might try their best to offer it at an excellent price point. It is expected to be launched at around Rs 30–35 lakh and will compete with the likes of the Ducati Panigale V4.
Norton was always known as a brand that came with neo-retro motorcycles. However, that image is slowly changing. The Norton V4 is an example. This is the first-ever model that Norton has developed from scratch after TVS acquired them. The brand has confirmed three new engines and six new models. Two models will use the same engine and platform. All these models are expected to hit the global market by 2027.
TVS will be launching premium products to establish the brand image in India, and they might not be focusing on volumes initially. They will eventually broaden their lineup in India with a variety of models spread across various price points and segments.
