Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal: All Service Issues Fixed

The country’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ola Electric, is known for making a ton of EV scooters. It is now also expanding its product lineup with the addition of EV bikes. However, despite being the top EV automaker, the company has been under constant scrutiny due to its slow after-sales service and the reliability of its electric scooters. Recently, while addressing this major criticism of his company, Ola Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal stated that all service-related issues have now been resolved.
While talking to media outlets, Bhavish Aggarwal highlighted that over the last few months, Ola Electric has improved its service turnaround time. He stated that earlier, it took around 2.5 to 3 days to fix a scooter that came to their service station. However, this time has now been reduced to 1.1 days, and it will continue to decline.
Aggarwal stated, “This is now down to 1.1 days, and the trend continues downwards. Our service experience now is pretty much best-in-class in the EV industry.” In addition to this, the Ola Electric founder also added that the company scaled up its staff and is now leveraging technology to enhance the after-sales service of its electric scooters.
For those who may not be aware, back in October of last year, tens of thousands of Ola Electric scooters broke down, and most of the company’s service stations were filled with scooters. Due to this, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) launched a probe against the EV automaker.
Following this, Ola Electric improved its service turnaround times. However, despite Bhavish Aggarwal’s claim in September 2024 that 99 percent of service complaints were solved, the CCPA expanded its probe against Ola Electric. So far, the EV automaker has received three notices from the CCPA, the latest of which was served to the company in January of this year.
As per the company’s financial filing, it has been revealed that in Q3 of FY25, Ola Electric spent Rs 110 crore on service and warranty. It was then calculated that daily service and warranty costs amounted to Rs 1.2 crore per day. Additionally, it was also calculated that the per-vehicle actual warranty cost came to around Rs 3,250.
While speaking to media outlets, Bhavish Aggarwal also highlighted that the company aims to sell 50,000 units of electric vehicles. This will help the brand reach EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) breakeven. In January 2025, the company managed to sell 24,330 units of its electric scooters. Due to this, the company also managed to regain its position as the top-selling EV automaker last month.
Ola Electric, in order to reach this ambitious target of 50,000 unit sales per month, has now launched its new Gen 3 electric scooters and EV bikes as well. The new Gen 3 scooters from the company start at Rs 79,999 and go all the way up to Rs 1,69,999 for the newly launched S1 Pro+, which is the brand’s new flagship electric scooter.
Additionally, the company has launched the Roadster X and Roadster X+ electric bikes, which are the brand’s first electric motorcycles. These bikes start at Rs 74,999 and go all the way up to Rs 1,54,999 for the Roadster X+. The top-spec Roadster X+ gets a massive 9.1 kWh battery pack, offering a 501 km range and a powerful 11 kW electric motor.
