India’s largest electric two-wheeler brand, Ola Electric, has surprised everyone with the launch of its newest and most affordable range of EVs. The company has launched the Gig and S1 Z range of scooters, which aim to target urban workers and small business owners. The range of the new Ola Electric scooters includes Ola Gig, Ola Gig+, Ola S1 Z, and Ola S1 Z+. The starting price of the Ola Gig Series is Rs 39,999. On the other hand, the S1 Z Series starts at Rs 59,999.

Ola Gig Launched

Ola Gig

First up is the Ola Gig, which is a very compact electric two-wheeler that gets a long handlebar, small wheels, and a single seat. It has space for carrying goods at the front as well as the rear. The company has also added an LED light at the front and rear. This particular scooter has been designed to help the working class transport small goods from one place to another in nearby areas.

It will be an ideal scooter for small businesses that generally operate within city limits. The Ola Electric Gig comes equipped with an IDC-certified range of 112 km and a top speed of 25 kmph. It comes with a removable 1.5 kWh battery, a hub motor, and 12-inch tyres for superior braking. As for the pricing, it has been set at Rs 39,999. The Gig range are the first Ola scooters with removable batteries. This is interesting, considering that the upcoming Honda Activa EV scooter is also expected to come with removable / swappable batteries. The Gig though is for gig workers and commercial purposes, while the Activa EV will be for consumers.

With both batteries in place, the scooter can be driven up to 157 km. The Gig+ comes powered by a hub motor with a peak output of 1.5 kW. This scooter has been priced at Rs 49,999, and like the Gig, it will also be available for B2B purchases and rentals.

The PowerPod has a maximum output of 500W and a 1.5 kWh battery that can provide power for 3 hours to run 5 LED bulbs, 3 ceiling fans, 1 TV, 1 mobile charger, and 1 Wi-Fi router. Ola has priced the PowerPod at Rs 9,999.
