Ola Electric Launches Its First Electric Motorcycle Roadster X At Rs 74,999

Finally, after showcasing its bike lineup on August 15th last year, the country’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ola Electric, has launched its first electric motorcycle, the Ola Roadster X, in India. This commuter EV motorcycle has been launched by Ola Electric with a starting price tag of Rs 74,999, and it goes up to Rs 99,000.
The all-new Ola Electric Roadster X is the most affordable motorcycle in the bike lineup by the brand. It comes in three variants—2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. Pricing of these variants is Rs 74,999, Rs 84,999, and Rs 99,999, respectively. All three variants of the Roadster X will be available in five colors, namely Ceramic White, Pine Green, Industrial Silver, Stellar Blue, and Anthracite.
First off, let’s talk about the design of the Ola Electric Roadster X. This motorcycle has been designed with commuter segment buyers in mind. It boasts a simple yet futuristic design, and it is a very slim motorcycle. At the front, it gets a naked streetfighter appearance with a sleek LED headlight and a thin DRL.
Its handlebar has also been designed with the ergonomics of daily riding in mind. Apart from this, it boasts a large mid-section, which houses the battery pack and the motor powering this bike. It also gets a single-piece seat and a chunky grab handle in the rear.
As for the features, the Roadster X comes equipped with all-LED lighting, a 4.3-inch LCD segmented display, advanced regen cruise control, TPMS, MoveOS 5, single-channel ABS, brake-by-wire, and a reverse feature. It will also offer OTA updates, GPS connectivity, predictive maintenance, and vacation mode.
The Ola Electric Roadster X will come powered by a 7 kW peak power motor, and it will boast a top speed of 118 kmph. The Roadster X will also be able to do a sprint of 0–40 kmph in just 3.1 seconds, and its range will be 252 km IDC-certified.
In terms of pricing, Ola Electric has launched the Roadster X with a price tag of Rs 89,999 for the 2.5 kWh variant, Rs 99,999 for the 3.5 kWh variant, and Rs 1,09,999 for the 4.5 kWh variant. However, the company is currently offering the bike at an introductory price, which is Rs 15,000 less than the original price. The current pricing of the bike is Rs 74,999, Rs 84,999, and Rs 94,999 for the respective variants.
In addition to the Roadster X, Ola Electric has also launched the Roadster X+. This bike boasts all the same features as the standard Roadster X. However, it gets a more powerful 11 kW peak power-producing electric motor. Its top speed is 125 kmph, and it can accelerate from 0–40 kmph in 2.7 seconds. It also features brake-by-wire, single-channel ABS, and the same range.
However, the company has also launched the Roadster X+ with a much larger 9.1 kWh battery pack that incorporates the brand’s in-house developed 4680 Bharat cells. As a result, the Roadster X+ with the 9.1 kWh battery pack offers a range of 501 km on a single full charge.
Pricing of the Ola Electric Roadster X+ is Rs 1,19,000 and its introductory price is Rs 1,04,999 for the 4.5 kWh variant. As for the 9.1 kWh variant, it has been priced at Rs 1,69,999 and introductory price is Rs 1,,54,999. Ola Electric has started taking orders for these bikes, and deliveries will commence by mid-March.
