Upcoming Ola Electric Motorcycle Design Revealed In a New Teaser

Just ahead of its official launch tomorrow, the country’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ola Electric, has once again teased its upcoming electric motorcycle. This time around, the company shared a new teaser that gives us a glimpse of the side profile of this all-electric motorcycle from the brand. Most likely, this is the production version of the Roadster concept that was showcased last year.
Ola Electric has been continuously teasing this new electric motorcycle, and this time around, it has revealed the key design elements of its side profile. The teaser of the bike shared on Ola Electric’s Official Instagram handle also shows the chassis, swingarm, rear suspension, and the overall design of this highly anticipated motorcycle.
From what we can note, the bike appears to be a streetfighter with sleek, sharp lines and a futuristic tank design. As shown in a previous teaser, the bike will feature smoked headlamps with projector lamps, horizontal DRLs, a small fly screen, and a wide handlebar with a cross brace.
The bike will most likely feature a large TFT color screen with Bluetooth and connected features via an eSIM. Additionally, it has also been noted from the latest teaser that the motorcycle could feature a hollow side panel, a sleek tail section with a single seat, taillamps tucked underneath, and a small rear fender.
The exact powertrain specifications of this motorcycle have not been revealed. However, it is expected to come equipped with a mid-mounted motor with chain drive. It is also expected to get RSU telescopic front suspension, mono-shock rear suspension, disc brakes at both ends, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The bike will be revealed at Ola’s Sankalp 2024 event. Additionally, Ola Electric’s new battery technology might also be unveiled. The range per charge could be around 180 km. As for the pricing, it could be launched at around the Rs 1.5 lakh mark. Once launched, this electric bike is anticipated to dominate the electric motorcycle segment. It will be competing with brands like Oben, Revolt, and Tork.
Earlier today, Ola Electric reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 347 crore for the first quarter of FY25. This is an increase of 30% from Rs 267 crore in Q1 FY24. However, the loss decreased by 16.5% from Rs 416 crore in the previous quarter (Q4 FY24).
Apart from this, the company’s revenue from operations grew 32% year-on-year to Rs 1,644 crore in Q1 FY25. It was Rs 1,243 crore in Q1 FY24. On a sequential basis, revenue rose 3% from Rs 1,598 crore in Q4 FY24. As reported by the company, its EBITDA loss stood at Rs 205 crore in Q1 FY25, slightly improved from Rs 218 crore in Q1 FY24.
Lastly, total expenses of Ola Electric increased by 26.5% to Rs 1,849 crore. As per the company, the cost of materials consumed was Rs 1,311 crore and employee benefits expense was Rs 123 crore. The company also reported an exceptional item of Rs 23 crore related to the reversal of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) to the government.
