Ola Electric scooters have somehow managed to stay in the news since their launch. We have come across several videos online where people are seen praising and complaining about the scooters and the service. The latest report is from Karnataka, where a moving Ola S1 Pro electric scooter caught fire. The rider managed to escape unhurt from the scooter.

The incident has been reported from Ramanagara, which is approximately 50 km away from Bengaluru. As per the reports available online, the scooter belonged to Sanjay, who is working at the district hospital. He is a resident of Kukkur in Channapatna taluk and was coming from his village to Ramanagara when this accident happened.

The time was around 7 PM, and the scooter suddenly stopped near Kumbapur Gate. As it was getting dark, Sanjay tried to restart the scooter and continue his ride. However, things didn’t go as expected. Soon after he attempted to restart the scooter, he noticed smoke coming out of the scooter. Sanjay got off the scooter, and before he knew it, the whole scooter had caught fire.

The exact cause of this accident is currently unknown. The whole scooter was destroyed in the fire. Locals noticed the fire and approached the rider, but before they could do anything, the fire had engulfed the scooter completely. Locals poured water on the burning scooter, but it was of no use.

After the incident, the owner filed a complaint with the Ramanagara Rural Police Station, and a case has also been registered. Thankfully, the owner of the scooter managed to escape in time, as the fire could have easily caused serious injuries. The scooter in question here is a Gen 2 Ola S1 Pro electric scooter.

Ola scooters have been getting a mixed response since the day they were launched. There were several incidents where the front forks on the Gen 1 Ola S1 Pro scooters broke. The company finally fixed the issue in the Gen 2. However, fire incidents are still a common complaint in both versions. We have featured several reports on our website, and in most cases, the company has not provided a clear statement on what caused the accident.

People have also complained about issues with the instrument cluster and the performance of the scooter in the past. Ola is working on these issues and is slowly trying to fix them.

Just couple of weeks ago, we came across a post of an Ola Electric S1 Pro electric scooter owner from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, who shared that his Ola Electric scooter, which was parked next to his Tata Sumo Gold, exploded and burned down completely. It also managed to damage the interior of his SUV and other items in the garage.

Ansari, the owner of the scooter, and his family members were sleeping during the early hours of the day when they heard loud noises and their neighbours knocking on their doors, shouting “fire.” When they came to the porch, they realised that the Ola S1 Pro scooter parked on the porch had caught fire.
