Woman Traffic Cop Abuses And Slaps Girl In Public For Triple Riding [Video]

Two-wheeler riders are often seen riding recklessly on the road, and we have seen videos of them causing accidents as well. In most cases, cops take action against the riders after the video goes viral. Their vehicles are often seized, and even the license is suspended in some cases, along with fines. However, here we have a video where a woman cop decided to punish a lady by slapping her in public for tripling on a scooter.
The video has been shared by Mumbai Tez News on their X profile. The exact location of this incident is not known, but the video mentions that it happened in Latur, Maharashtra. As per the social media post, the woman police officer who was on duty had stopped a woman who was riding a scooter with two pillion riders.
The lady constable stopped the scooter and allegedly started abusing the rider and the pillion riders. In this video, we can see that the officer is speaking aggressively to the rider while surrounded by locals. A few seconds into the video, we also see the cop slapping the woman who was riding the scooter.
The exact reason behind this behaviour is not known, but we feel that physically assaulting anyone is not the solution and we do not promote it either. It is not clear if the traffic constable and the woman had started arguing on the road over the tripling issue and the situation escalated, ending with the slap seen in the video.
In India or anywhere around the world, riding a two-wheeler with more than two individuals is illegal, and the authorities can take action against you if caught. People are aware of this rule but still continue to repeat the mistake.
When you are riding with multiple people on the pillion seat, several things can go wrong. First of all, the rider cannot sit properly and is unable to find a good riding position. This affects the handling, and with more weight behind the rider, the performance of the vehicle is also impacted. The rider cannot give their full attention to the road as they are unable to sit comfortably.
In case of an accident, the chances of falling on the road and getting injured are pretty high. In the video mentioned above, we do not see the woman rider wearing a helmet either. If she was riding the scooter with two pillion riders and that too without a helmet, it was a dangerous act, and we cannot blame the cop for stopping her. The rider was putting her own life as well as the lives of the pillion at risk.
However, slapping the rider was not the right thing to do. The officer should have ideally informed her seniors about the incident and asked the department to take appropriate action. Although the rider was in the wrong, it doesn’t give the cop the right to slap her. She could have issued a fine and even requested the department to suspend the license for such reckless behaviour. The scooter could also have been seized if needed.
