Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Owner Rides Through Flooded Road: Gets Seized Engine, Hefty Repair Bill [Video]

No matter how many times people are warned about not driving their two-wheelers and four-wheelers on completely flooded roads, there are people who still do such dangerous drives, and in most cases, it results in catastrophic engine failures. Recently, a video was shared online in which a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 owner was seen submerging his motorcycle in a waterlogged road. As a result of this, his bike's engine got seized and had to be replaced.
This video, showing a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650’s engine getting completely seized due to riding on a flooded road, has been shared on YouTube by Hardy Khaira on their channel. In this short clip, the owner of this bike was riding it through a fully flooded road. The water level was up to the fuel tank of this motorcycle.
We can note that the entire engine and exhausts of this motorcycle were submerged in water. Despite this, the rider was still riding the bike on the road, and he was being asked to keep the accelerator turned all the way and not stop. The bike rides for a short distance but eventually turns off.
Following this, the rider reaches the side of the road, after which he starts the bike and accelerates, and we can note that a lot of water came out of both exhausts. Unfortunately, the water had already reached the engine block by then, and the entire engine got seized. As a result, this rider was then seen pushing his motorcycle.
Finally, the video shows the bike parked inside a building with all the body panels and engine removed from it. As per the owner of this Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, a brand-new engine worth Rs 45,000 was installed in the motorcycle. Most likely, other electrical components like wiring and lights were also changed, as they were completely submerged in water.
As mentioned above, this is not the first time we have seen people doing this dangerous act of driving through flooded roads. Back in June of last year, a video from Delhi went viral on the internet. In this short clip, a Rs 4 crore Rolls-Royce Ghost and a Volvo XC60 were seen stranded on a busy road that was flooded. Most likely, both these vehicles suffered from engine failure, as the drivers of these cars took them across flooded roads.
Another incident that took place last year involved a couple in a Volkswagen Tiguan SUV attempting to cross an overflowing causeway but getting swept away. The driver of this car was confident that it was safe to cross the river, as another vehicle had successfully crossed the road. However, as he drove into the water, the river’s currents suddenly increased.
Due to this, his Volkswagen Tiguan was swept away and carried about 1.5 kilometers from the causeway before coming to a halt. By the time it stopped, the car was almost fully submerged, with only the roof visible above the floodwaters. Following this, a rescue operation was launched, and the couple was rescued. Both of them were seen sitting on top of the roof of their vehicle after coming out of the sunroof.
