In India’s growing motorsport scene, few events capture the imagination of everyday motorcycle lovers like the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup. Back for its fourth season in 2025, this one-of-a-kind racing championship gives aspiring riders across the country a chance to swap the street for the racetrack—with nothing more than a valid driving licence and a passion for speed. As the engines start to roar again, here’s how you can get involved and what’s in store if you make it to the podium.

Bigger, Broader and Bolder

Season 2025 of the Continental GT Cup is the biggest yet. Building on the massive response to Season 2024—where over 5000 riders signed up—Royal Enfield is expanding the footprint of its zonal selection rounds from four cities to eight. This year, the selection rounds will be held in Guwahati, Noida, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai.

The goal is simple: uncover India’s most promising racing talent by giving them equal access to a professional racing platform. The only eligibility requirement is a valid driver’s licence. From that point forward, it’s about raw talent, dedication and lap times.

The Path from Registration to Race Day

Signing up for the GT Cup is straightforward. Registrations are now open online at royalenfield.com/gtcup. Riders can choose between two categories: Amateur or Professional, depending on their experience.

Each selection round spans two days. Day One is training, where participants receive coaching from expert mentors at the Royal Enfield Track School. Day Two is selection day, where riders clock timed laps to fight for a place on the final grid.

From these eight cities, the top 8 riders from each zone—64 amateurs in total—will be selected. They’ll join 50 professional riders at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore from July 3–6, 2025, for the national selection round. Ultimately, 24 riders—amateurs and pros—will make it to the main event. In case you are interested, you can register here.

Race Format: Pro-Am Excitement

Once on the final grid, the competition moves to the big stage. Season 2025 will continue with the Pro-Am race format that fans have come to love. This means professional and amateur riders will race together, with an added twist: the Twin Power Trophy.

Under this format, each amateur is paired with a professional. While individual race results and podium finishes still matter, the Twin Power Trophy brings team strategy into the equation. For amateurs, it’s an incredible opportunity to learn from the best. For professionals, it’s a chance to mentor and elevate new talent.

What You Win: More Than Just Trophies

The GT Cup doesn’t just offer bragging rights—it offers a real chance at becoming part of India’s motorsport community. Winners receive not only trophies and public recognition but also open doors to future racing opportunities within and beyond the Royal Enfield racing ecosystem.

Royal Enfield’s motorsport vision stretches beyond India, with international programmes like Build. Train. Race. in the US, flat track events in the UK and drag races across Europe and Asia. So while the GT Cup is a national championship, it’s also a stepping stone to the global stage.

The Bike That Makes It Possible

Every rider in the GT Cup races on the same machine: a race-prepped Royal Enfield Continental GT-R650. These motorcycles are built to identical specifications, ensuring that victory comes down to rider skill, not machine superiority. It’s a pure racing experience rooted in the iconic café racer DNA of the GT 650—easy to handle, quick off the mark, and thrilling to push to the limit.

Making Motorsport Mainstream

The Continental GT Cup is part of Royal Enfield’s broader mission to grow grassroots motorsport in India. Track racing has long been seen as an elite, expensive pursuit. But by providing the bikes, the gear, the training and the platform, the GT Cup levels the playing field for aspiring racers from all walks of life.

From a local karting track in Guwahati to the thundering straights of Kari Motor Speedway, the 2025 GT Cup offers more Indian riders than ever the chance to make their racing dreams a reality. All you need is a licence and the will to ride.

So, if you’ve ever dreamed of going full throttle down a racetrack, this might just be your moment.
