Royal Enfield Flying Flea EV Sub Brand Debuts: First Electric Bike To Be Called C6

Royal Enfield has announced its all-electric sub-brand dubbed the ‘Flying Flea’. The first motorcycle from the new vertical called the C6 has just made its global debut in Milan, just before the EICMA. It seems to have taken inspiration from the original WD/RE motorcycles from the past, and is placed primarily as an urban motorcycle.
True to Royal Enfield’s signature retro aesthetics, the new Flying Flea C6 is reminiscent of early 20th-century motorcycles, with a teardrop-shaped faux fuel tank likely housing the charging point.
The battery pack is strategically placed within the frame, maintaining the look of a traditional Enfield while integrating electric components seamlessly. RE’s teams in India, UK and Italy came together to draw and develop this electric motorcycle. This completely in-house developed product has charm in the way it looks.
The motorcycle gets a low-slung bobber body style, with a high rake angle for the handlebar, and a single saddle. Unconventionally, it uses girder forks at the front! It will also have a touchscreen TFT dashboard, all-LED lighting and all-new switchgear.
The proportions seem to suit effortless urban commutes well. It even seems welcoming for riders of all shapes and sizes. The C6 goes for slim tyres, as against the recent practice of doing chunky ones. This should help in milking out the maximum range from the powertrain, by minimizing the rolling resistance. Even though the showcased model was a solo seater, a pillion seat will likely be offered as an option.
The C6 is built on Royal Enfield’s newly developed L-platform, which supports a 96V electric architecture. This platform uses forged aluminium frame and is expected to serve as the base for future electric models from the Flying Flea brand. Not much is known about the battery capacity or powertrain outputs at the time of writing this article.
However, we expect it to offer a range of 120-150 kms- a cut more than the range offered by most premium electric scooters. If this is the case, RE will be able to play it wise with the battery size and ensure proper manoeuvrability and road manners on the motorcycle.
Flying Flea has also teased an upcoming Scrambler that would likely be called S6 at launch. It will have a longer travel suspension, spoke wheels, bench seat and dual-purpose tyres.
Following today’s debut, the Flying Flea EV is set to go into production next year, with its official India debut expected at a later date- probably ‘spring 2026′. Also, it remains to be seen if these electric motorcycles will be sold through regular Royal Enfield dealerships or dedicated Flying Flea stores.
The original Flying Flea was a rugged, lightweight motorcycle capable of being parachuted or glided into war fronts. Its primary purpose was to aid British soldiers in frontline communications when radio links were unavailable. Resurrecting this nameplate is a nod of honour to the brand’s rich pedigree.
