The scooter market has seen a flurry of activity this week, with major brands rolling out new models and announcing attractive benefits to draw in buyers. From affordable electric options to feature-packed hybrids and longer-range variants, the segment is heating up just as customer interest starts to pick up again.

Ather Rizta S (3.7 kWh) – ₹1.38 lakh (ex-showroom)

Ather Rizta new variant

Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the Rizta S electric scooter, priced at ₹1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, including FAME-II and state subsidies where applicable). This variant features a 3.7 kWh battery, offering a certified range of over 123 km. Designed for family use, it also includes park assist, reverse assist, a 7-inch touchscreen, side-step, and a wider pillion seat. With its mix of performance and practicality, the Rizta S aims to appeal to urban riders who need both range and features in their daily commute.

TVS iQube 3.1 kWh – ₹1.17 lakh (ex-showroom)

TVS iQube new variant

TVS has added a new mid-range option to the iQube lineup. Priced at ₹1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 3.1 kWh variant delivers a real-world range of 121 km. This fills the space between the 2.2 kWh base variant (₹94,999) and the 4.6 kWh top variant (₹1.55 lakh). Buyers looking for decent range at a reasonable price now have a strong middle-ground option. Like the others, this variant also gets LED lights, Bluetooth connectivity, and regenerative braking.

Hero Vida Vx2 – Starting at ₹59,490 (ex-showroom, including subsidy)

Hero Vida new variant

Hero MotoCorp has launched one of the most affordable electric scooters in the market, the Vida Vx2. With a starting price of ₹59,490, it targets budget-conscious urban commuters. The scooter features a 2.0 kWh battery, a top speed of 45 km/h, and a range of about 80 km per charge. It is clearly meant for short-range city usage and could appeal to college students, gig workers, and households looking for a low-cost secondary vehicle.

Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid – Benefits Worth ₹10,000

Yamaha Razr

Yamaha is offering benefits worth ₹10,000 on its RayZR 125 Hybrid scooter. These benefits include cash discounts, extended warranty, and free maintenance packages depending on the dealer and region. The scooter itself is priced around ₹84,730 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It features a mild-hybrid setup with Smart Motor Generator (SMG) technology that assists during take-off, helping improve fuel efficiency and ride smoothness. While it’s not electric, the hybrid system makes it more efficient than conventional scooters.

What This Means for Buyers

This variety of offerings shows how manufacturers are adapting their strategies to meet specific buyer needs. Whether it's Hero’s sub-₹60,000 electric scooter for budget users or Ather’s premium offering aimed at tech-savvy families, the two-wheeler segment is offering more targeted value than ever before.

With the central FAME-II subsidy set to end, state-level incentives and brand discounts have become crucial in keeping prices attractive. Dealers are actively promoting exchange bonuses and flexible EMI plans. Some states like Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra still offer additional EV subsidies that could lower the effective price even further.

Walk-in interest has risen across brands. Buyers in metro cities are more inclined toward EVs due to rising fuel costs and better access to public charging, while buyers in Tier 2 towns are responding positively to finance and lease offers being rolled out at dealerships.

The message is clear: if you’re in the market for a scooter, whether electric, hybrid, or conventional, this is a good time to strike a deal. Brands are pushing hard to win customers, and riders now have a wider, more competitive selection than ever before.
