Everyone passionate about cars and bikes would agree that the first bike or car they ever bought holds a special place in their heart. Sometimes, people have to let go of these cherished vehicles for one reason or another. However, we’ve recently seen many videos where the owners of these vehicles attempt to track down their old cars and bikes by finding their current owners. Here, we have a video where a son bought back his father’s Royal Enfield Bullet, which was sold almost 26 years ago.
The video was shared by Jojo Kottoor on his Instagram page. In this video, we see a collection of old pictures showing Jojo’s father and mother with the bike. In fact, he mentions in the first slide that his mother had gifted the Royal Enfield Bullet to his father back in 1979.
The couple used to travel to Palakkad on this motorcycle to set up their plantations. Jojo often traveled on the tank of the motorcycle. He says it was the best seat on the bike because it gave the best view. Sadly, the motorcycle was sold in 1998. While the family likely bought new vehicles, including a car, it seems Jojo could never forget the Royal Enfield Bullet.
He probably checked the bike’s current status online and found it was still in use. Somehow, he managed to get in touch with the bike’s current owner and shared his emotional attachment to it. The owner understood Jojo’s feelings and agreed to sell it back to him.
The bike is still in good condition but no longer looks like a vintage Bullet. The later owners had customized it to resemble a more modern version. In the video, the Bullet is modified to look like a Pegasus or Signals variant. The exterior body panels were replaced or repainted in a desert sand brown shade, featuring new Royal Enfield logos.

The motorcycle now boasts modern features such as disc brakes, new headlamps, blacked-out steel rims with spokes, chrome ORVMs, and more. Jojo’s parents were both surprised and visibly delighted, as seen in the video. They even sat on the same Bullet after 26 years.
The joy on the couple’s faces is unmistakable, as this experience must have brought back memories of their good old days. The comment section under the video is filled with positive and encouraging remarks.
Most viewers were happy that Jojo got the bike back, but many suggested restoring it to its original condition. Some comments under the video are, “Would like to know the whole story—from the idea of getting it back to tracing the bike and buying it again.
Must have been a wonderful journey!” “The smile on your parents’ faces is your biggest achievement. Bring that Bullet back to its old look.”, “Wow, I am excited! Congrats! Great daa..! Finally, you found it and brought back memories for all! Glad to see maman and aunty’s excited smiles! I still remember our Bullet rides with maman!”, “Happy to see this..But the bike completely lost its originality.”
