Suzuki e-Access Electric Scooter Enters Production Ahead Of India Launch

Suzuki Motorcycle India has begun production of its first electric scooter, the e-Access, at its facility in Gurgaon. This marks the company’s formal entry into the electric two-wheeler segment in India. The e-Access was first showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, and the production rollout suggests that the official launch is imminent.
The e-Access is equipped with a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which promises a claimed range of 95 kilometres on a full charge. It also offers a top speed of 71 kilometres per hour, positioning it as an urban-friendly commuter option.
Visually, the e-Access carries forward some design cues from its petrol-powered sibling, the Access 125, but the styling has been updated to reflect its electric identity. It features a vertical LED daytime running light on the front apron, full LED headlamps, and a TFT digital instrument cluster that provides riding data and battery status in a clear layout.
Three dual-tone colour options will be offered at launch: Metallic Mat Black No.2 with Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, Pearl Grace White with Metallic Mat Fibroin Grey, and Pearl Jade Green with Metallic Mat Fibroin Grey. These combinations are aimed at offering a more youthful, modern aesthetic in line with evolving buyer preferences.
Under the bodywork, the e-Access is powered by a 4.1 kW electric motor that delivers 15 Nm of torque. The scooter comes with multiple riding modes suited to different conditions, including Eco, Ride A, Ride B, and a dedicated Reverse Mode for easier maneuvering in tight spaces.
Charging options include a standard charger that takes about 6 hours and 42 minutes for a full top-up. For users looking for quicker turnarounds, a fast charger can cut this down to approximately 2 hours and 12 minutes. This dual-charging setup is likely to appeal to both daily commuters and occasional users.
The Suzuki e-Access will enter a market that has seen a surge in electric scooter launches over the past two years. Its key rivals will include the Honda Activa Electric, QC1 TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, and Ola S1. These models are priced between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh, and Suzuki is expected to position the e-Access competitively within this bracket.
Each of these rivals brings a distinct combination of features, range, and performance, and Suzuki will need to rely on its strong brand equity and dealership network to gain a foothold in this increasingly crowded space.
The e-Access appears to have been developed with a practical focus, balancing usable range, city-oriented performance, and familiar ergonomics. While pricing and final variant details are yet to be announced, the product seems designed to target urban buyers seeking a reliable alternative to petrol scooters.
As the launch approaches, Suzuki will be hoping the e-Access provides it with a credible entry into the EV space, setting the stage for future offerings in what is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic two-wheeler markets globally.
