Movie promotions have come a long way. We have actors and directors giving interviews to online media websites and YouTube channels. Every online media outlet is now looking for unique ways to make their interviews stand out from the rest. However, sometimes these interviews land them in trouble. Here we have a report of one such interview. Tamil movie actor Prashanth and an anchor were fined for an interview conducted on a moving bike.
The video has been shared by Galatta Times on their YouTube channel. In this interview with the online media house, the anchor was seen interviewing the actor Prashanth while riding a bike. What’s wrong with that, you ask? Well, both the rider and the anchor were not wearing helmets.
The video went viral on the internet, and in no time, people started responding to it. People saw the video and posted it on X, tagging the Chennai traffic police. Most of them pointed out the traffic rule violation and asked the authorities to take action. Chennai police came across the video and decided to take action.
The traffic police not only issued a fine against the actor but also the anchor who was sitting on the pillion seat. Chennai police issued a Rs 2,000 challan against the actor. After the action was taken, the actor came forward with an explanation. He apologized to the viewers and said that the only reason he did not wear a helmet was because of the nature of the interview.
If he had worn a helmet, he wouldn’t have been able to speak properly or have a conversation with the anchor. It was only for the interview that he avoided the helmet. He also added that he is a person who always obeys traffic rules and that no one should ever ride a two-wheeler without a helmet.
Prashanth was giving the interview to the online media as part of the promotion of his new movie “Andhagan.” During the interview, the actor talked about how his father Thiagarajan, who is also a popular actor in the South Indian film industry, bought him a Yamaha RX100 when he wanted to learn how to ride a bike. He also mentioned that it was his uncle S. Kumar, a cinematographer, who taught him how to ride.

In this video, we see Prashanth riding a Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle on a public road. Such sights are quite common on Indian roads. There have been instances when people flout traffic rules publicly and ride two-wheelers in a reckless manner. They are not only putting their own lives but also the lives of other road users at risk.
A helmet is the minimum safety gear one should have while riding a two-wheeler. By not wearing a helmet, the rider is putting his life at risk. In case of an accident, a helmet protects the rider from head injuries, which are extremely dangerous.
If you are wearing proper riding gear, it can save you from bruises and major injuries in case of a fall. Also, do not wear a helmet just to avoid a fine. Wear a proper helmet that fits your head properly and opt for a branded one for added safety.
