Triumph Motorcycles is set to expand its 400cc range in India with two fresh models. After the success of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, the brand is preparing to launch a Brat Track 400 and a Scrambler T4. Both aim to give riders more choice in the growing midsize segment at prices that remain competitive.

The Brat Track 400 is expected to brings a mix of retro and modern styling to Triumph’s stable. A flat bench seat, shorter wheelbase, and relaxed riding position could give it a look and feel distinct from traditional roadsters. Spy shots from Europe (courtesy Motorrad Und Reisen) show design elements borrowed from the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, with a tail section that hints at the upcoming Thruxton 400.

It will use the same 398.15cc single-cylinder engine from Triumph’s current 400cc bikes, producing 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm. While the basic setup stays the same, the Brat Track may see tweaks to suit its sportier nature. Suspension and braking hardware are expected to mirror the proven USD forks, rear monoshock, and disc brakes seen on the existing models.

Triumph is targeting an October 2025 launch, with prices likely around ₹2.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, the Brat Track will have no direct rivals, giving Triumph a chance to create a new niche in the Indian market.

The Scrambler T4 is a more affordable take on the Scrambler 400 X. It keeps the scrambler stance and off-road-inspired design but pares back some features to lower costs. This approach makes it easier for price-conscious buyers to experience the scrambler lifestyle without stretching their budget.

Triumph has kept the essentials intact to ensure the T4 still feels like a proper scrambler. By offering this variant, the brand is looking to draw in new customers who might otherwise shy away from its higher-priced bikes.

Shared Platform, Wider Choice

Both the Brat Track 400 and Scrambler T4 will be built on the same platform as the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, and Thruxton 400. This shared architecture allows Triumph to cut development costs, maintain parts availability, and still offer riders varied styles to match their preferences.

The 400cc class remains a sweet spot in India, balancing power and practicality without the added costs that come with bigger bikes. By expanding its range in this category, Triumph is making sure it appeals to city commuters, weekend tourers, and style-conscious riders alike.

Made in India, Priced for India

These additions also highlight the strength of Triumph’s partnership with Bajaj Auto. Local manufacturing has allowed the company to keep prices competitive while delivering bikes that carry the brand’s global design and engineering standards.

With five models in its 400cc lineup once the Brat Track and Scrambler T4 arrive, Triumph will have one of the most complete offerings in the midsize premium space. This expansion shows how the brand is using India not only as a production base but also as a key market for its growth plans.
