Scoop: Triumph Scrambler 400 XC Price Leaked, Dealers Start Taking Bookings

Triumph is set to expand its portfolio further in India, with the launch of the Scrambler 400 XC. The 400 range now consists of the 2025 Speed 400, Speed T4 and the Scrambler 400 X. The XC will sit above the X and have a stronger focus on off-road performance. The motorcycle was recently spotted without camouflage during a TVC shoot and is expected to be out later this month. With just weeks left for the official market launch, we have now learnt what the ex-showroom prices would be, when launched!
The upcoming Triumph Scrambler 400 XC will have an ex-showroom price of 2.94 lakh, upon launch. This would make it sit above the Scrambler 400 X, which currently has an ex-showroom price of 2.66 lakh. The new motorcycle will thus have a price premium of roughly Rs 28,000 over the Scramber 400X. Some dealers have reportedly started accepting orders for the XC.
The Scrambler 400 XC will essentially be a new variant with a stronger adventure focus and altered traits. While much of the mechanicals will remain the same as the standard Scrambler 400X, the new motorcycle will be able to pull off more hardcore adventure-riding.
One of the most important additions to the Scrambler 400 XC is the new tubeless cross-spoke wheels. These are not just for style— they will be of great use on off-road runs. They'd make it easier to repair punctures and provide additional strength on rough terrains. The wheel sizes are expected to remain the same as the outgoing Scrambler: a 19-inch wheel at the front and 17-inch unit at the rear.
Apart from the new wheels, Triumph is expected to make several changes that would give the Scrambler 400 XC a tougher, adventure-ready look. Previous spottings reveal a bold yellow paint job and sporty speed-block graphics. These would easily make the design recognisable. The high-mounted mudguard and visor match the body color and are likely to be standard on this version.
The manufacturer could rejig the entire colour palette. Specifics of this are yet to be known. Also, does the colourway make you draw visual connections with the Royal Enfield Bear 650? Never mind!
The fenders will be shorter and more angular, at both ends. There will be a prominent front beak and flyscreen to add to the overall appeal.
The rest of the frame and dimensions could remain the same as the outgoing 400X. However, the XC could offer longer suspension travel and may even come with sintered brake pads. (For the uninformed, sintered pads have better heat resistance than organic ones)
The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC will continue to use the same 398cc liquid-cooled engine seen on the standard model. It produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, which is plenty for both city use and light trail adventures. The transmission on offer would be a six-speed unit with a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike will also have an off-road mode with switchable ABS and traction control- meaning more control on tricky trails and terrains!
While not confirmed, Triumph could also offer an optional quick shifter on the XC variant. If included, it would be a big plus for riders who plan to use the bike on highways.
As the launch date nears, the Scrambler 400 XC is shaping up to be a serious contender for those looking for a rugged, stylish motorcycle with real off-road potential—without breaking the bank.
