TVS Motor has introduced a new track-focused variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V, building on its legacy of delivering feature-rich bikes in the segment. This latest version comes with notable updates like USD telescopic front forks and a compact Bullpup exhaust, enhancing both its sporty aesthetics and performance. Priced at ₹1.4 lakh (ex-showroom), the bike is poised to rival competitors such as the Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda Hornet 2.0, and the Pulsar N160 and NS160. Interestingly, it is Rs 520 more expensive than the range-topping Apache RTR 160 4V variant.

What’s New On The 2025 TVS Apache 160 4V?

The standout features include its gold-coloured 37mm USD front forks, which not only improve handling but also add a premium visual touch. The stubbier Bullpup exhaust delivers a deeper, bassier sound, amplifying the bike’s sporty appeal. Available in three striking colours—Granite Grey, Matte Black, and Pearl White—it also flaunts red alloy wheels for added flair.

While much of its design remains the same as the previous model, features like sharp aerodynamic body panels, claw-shaped mirrors, a sculpted fuel tank, funky LED DRLs and stylish headlamp, and a sharp engine cowl elevate the design aggression.

Riders can switch between three riding modes—Sport, Urban, and Rain—making the bike highly adaptable to diverse riding conditions. Sport mode unleashes the bike’s full potential, delivering maximum power and torque for thrilling rides, while Urban and Rain modes provide optimized performance for city traffic and slippery roads, respectively.

The fully digital instrument console further enhances the experience, offering features like a speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, lap timer, top-speed recorder, and a 0-60 km/h timer. It also comes with TVS Smart XConnect tech.

The new Apache RTR 160 4V is powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder engine with Race Tuned Fuel Injection (RT-FI) that delivers 17.55 PS of power and 14.73 Nm of torque in Sport mode. It delivers better performance, longer engine life and increased fuel efficiency. The output slightly decreases in Urban and Rain modes to balance efficiency and safety. Paired with a 5-speed gearbox, the engine ensures smooth power delivery and improved fuel efficiency.

Additionally, the Glide Through Technology (GTT) allows the bike to move forward in traffic by simply releasing the clutch, eliminating the need for throttle input—a handy feature for urban riders. The RTR 310 too has this feature. Trying to pull off a similar track-oriented product as the new 160, TVS had launched the Apache 165 RP previously.

Like we had seen on the RTR 310, this motorcycle also gets dual channel ABS with RLP (Rear wheel Lift-off Protection), marking the manufacturer’s commitment to ensuring safety even in the 160 cc segment.

Vimal Sumbly, Head of Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company, said in a statement: “We are excited to announce the upgrade of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V with cutting-edge features and advanced technology. Built on a rich racing legacy, the TVS Apache Series proudly serves over 5.5 million enthusiasts, making it one of the fastest-growing premium motorcycle brands globally.”

Let’s now look at the company’s dominance in the 160cc segment. With a carefully planned product lineup and competitive pricing, TVS has always stayed competitive in the space. It is also the only two-wheeler company to be recognized with a Deming Prize. It has also maintained a top spot in the J.D. Power Customer Service Satisfaction Survey for four consecutive years as well.
