TVS Motor Company will launch its first adventure touring motorcycle, the Apache RTX 300, on October 15, 2025. This is TVS’s entry into the fast growing ADV touring space with a road leaning package aimed at Indian highways and rough patches.

TVS positions the RTX 300 as a touring first motorcycle. The 19 and 17 alloy wheel setup with tubeless tyres points to easier puncture handling and better road manners.

The geometry aims at confidence on broken highways, concrete joints and gravel connectors while keeping steering light in the city. Riders who want more dirt focus can wait for the hinted off road oriented variant that is expected later with different tyres, added protection and revised suspension tuning.

How it looks:

The RTX 300 follows current ADV design with a semi fairing, tall windscreen, muscular tank and a compact tail with split seats. A dual LED headlamp and a short beak complete the front.

The riding position is upright with neutral peg placement for relaxed shoulders and a clear view over traffic. Pillion space appears usable and the tail section looks ready for a rack or soft luggage mounts.

Specs at a glance

The RTX 300 introduces TVS’s new RT-XD4 engine. It is a 299 cc liquid cooled single cylinder that produces 35 hp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. A six speed gearbox with a slipper clutch is standard. These figures place it above typical 250 class ADVs and below larger 450 class rivals, which is the gap TVS is targeting.

The bike uses a steel trellis frame developed for this platform. Suspension is by upside down front forks and a rear monoshock tuned for stability and comfort. Wheel sizes are 19 inch at the front and 17 inch at the rear with alloy rims and road biased tyres. Dual channel ABS is part of the package. Suspension travel is longer than TVS street bikes but is set up for touring rather than technical off-road use.

A colour TFT screen brings Bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation. Multiple ride modes, switchable traction control and dual channel ABS add adjustability in mixed weather and surface conditions. Full LED lighting is expected. Ride by wire throttle and basic cruise control are likely given pre launch showings. Switchgear is designed for gloved operation and the TFT layout prioritises quick access to trip data and mode changes.

Likely price band and rivals

KTM Adventure 250

Expected pricing is around Rs 2.5 lakh ex showroom. On performance and equipment it is expected to sit above the KTM 250 Adventure while staying more accessible than the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in size and price. That middle ground is the draw for riders who want easy highway pace, wind protection and modern electronics without the heft or tag of bigger machines.

Development so far and what TVS has shown

Prototype images surfaced last year, followed by a public showing at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Test mules have been seen frequently and TVS MD Sudarshan Venu was spotted riding one, which indicates close attention from the top. Bikes seen in public featured integrated hand guards, a tidy windscreen mount and well finished panel fit around the tank and fairing, all of which support the touring brief.

What to expect

TVS will launch the touring focused version first on October 15. Deliveries and test rides should follow through regular dealerships. Accessories are expected to include a top rack, soft luggage mounts, engine guards and a taller screen option. Colours and graphics will lean on the Apache family look with ADV specific detailing.

The Apache RTX 300 brings a new 299 cc TVS developed engine, a road first 19 and 17 alloy wheel combo, a stout trellis frame with USD forks, useful electronics and an expected price near Rs 2.5 lakh ex showroom. It is a straightforward ADV tourer for Indian conditions, positioned between KTM’s 250 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
