TVS Orbiter Sub-Rs. 1 Lakh Electric Scooter Launched: Gets 158 Kms Range, Cruise Control, Hill Hold

TVS Motor Company, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, today launched their all-new electric scooter Orbiter in the Indian market. It is aimed as an entry-level scooter and has been priced at Rs 99,900, ex-showroom, inclusive of the PM e-Drive scheme.
Speaking at the launch of TVS Orbiter, Mr. Gaurav Gupta, President, India 2W Business, TVS Motor Company, said, “At TVS Motor, we are driven by an unwavering focus on technology and customer-centric innovation. Leveraging our engineering expertise and advanced capabilities, we are building products that set global benchmarks in quality, performance, and safety. With TVS Orbiter, we are expanding our EV ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India. We remain committed to strengthening our global presence, and offering solutions that contribute to a cleaner, sustainable, and smarter future.”
Although TVS positioned this as an entry-level model, it is not so basic when it comes to features. In fact, TVS Orbiter comes with a long list of features, some of which are actually segment-first. It gets cruise control, a 34-litre boot space, and hill-hold assist as segment-first features. These features are usually seen in higher or more expensive scooters.
Coming to the design, TVS Orbiter has been styled in such a way that it retains a unique identity on the road. TVS says it follows a modern, endearing, and purposeful design philosophy that strikes the perfect balance between aesthetics and function.
TVS Orbiter comes with an 845 mm long flat-form seat that offers ample space for both rider and pillion. Similarly, the 290 mm straight or flat footboard offers more than enough space for the rider to rest his feet while riding.
It gets a sleek LED DRL and turn indicators integrated on the apron. The headlamps are LED units and so are the tail lamps. The TVS Orbiter electric scooter offers 34 litres of under-seat storage, which is easily one of the largest in this segment, and it can hold two helmets. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels, both at the front and rear.
Coming to the features, TVS is offering an LCD digital instrument cluster, connected scooter functions like crash, fall, anti-theft, geo-fencing, and time-fencing alerts, a mobile app to check battery percentage and range, turn-by-turn navigation, Eco and Power riding modes, regenerative braking, and more.
TVS is offering the Orbiter with a 3.1 kWh battery that delivers a claimed riding range of 158 km. The scooter is apt for urban or city use as it offers a range of practical features along with a decent riding range. Cruise control and hill-hold are two prominent features on offer. TVS Orbiter is available in a variety of colour options – Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper.
The TVS Orbiter electric scooter directly competes with the likes of Ola S1X, Vida V2, and lower variants of Bajaj Chetak in the segment.
