TVS first showcased the RTS X concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Looks like the motorcycle is set to make it to the production line soon. A recent patent filing confirms that TVS is serious about taking this Supermoto into production.

As suggested by the patent images, the production-spec will stay close to the concept in terms of design. It would thus look fresh and futuristic. Plus, it will house a new, more powerful engine. The production form will be based on a modified Apache RTR 310 platform.

TVS Apache RTS X Concept: Quick Look At It

The RTS X concept would instantly grab your attention with its unique styling. The front end features a sharp LED headlight and a sporty mudguard. The long single seat and sleek tail section give it a clean, minimalistic look. The subframe is painted in solid white, which stands out nicely against the bike's yellow-and-white bodywork. This is not just another street bike — it clearly leans into the supermoto territory with its upright seating and commanding riding position.

Powering the production-spec RTS X will be a new 299cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which would likely make 35 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and feature a bi-directional quick shifter, just like what we see on the RR310 and RTR 310.

If the manufacturer claims are to be believed, the motorcycle would be able to sprint to 60 kph from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds and 100 kph would come in just 6.3 seconds. It will thus match more performance-oriented bikes in the segment.

The RTS X Concept weighs only 144 kg. However, it has a seat height of 875 mm, which could be a bit high for some riders. It gets 17-inch wheels at both ends, fitted to 43mm USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. These could likely remain unchanged on the production form as well.

Making things more radical, the concept had a keyless go and a Red button as the ignition key (which sits on the fuel tank!). It remains to be seen if the production form will continue with this approach. The fully digital instrumentation of the concept could make an appearance on the production spec as well. The concept also had a fancy rear subframe with the tail lights and exhaust integrated into it.

Sub-500cc Supermotos Inbound!

KTM is known to be prepping the new 390 SMC R for an Indian launch sometime soon. The motorcycle has recently been spotted testing multiple times, suggesting the same. When launched, the SMC will likely create a stir among motorcycle enthusiasts. TVS aims to give the KTM Supermoto a tough fight with the RTS X's production guise.

The 390 SMC R will be based on the same platform as the new 390 Adventure. It rides on 17-inch spoke wheels, and has more suspension travel than the Adventure (230 mm if we aren't wrong!). The suspension setup consists of WP Apex USD front forks and a WP rear monoshock. The rear unit adjustable for rebound and preload. The motorcycle is also expected to feature dual-channel ABS with 'Supermoto' ABS mode.

The SMC R will use the same 399cc, liquid-cooled engine from the Adventure and the Duke range. The output will likely be 45.3bhp and 39Nm.

The SMC could become the first sub-500cc supermoto to go on sale in India, soon joined by TVS RTS X. The duel between the duo is something most motorcycle enthusiasts look up to...
