Gen-3 Powertrain Firmware And Ballistic+ Mode Launched On The Ultraviolette F77 Range

The Ultraviolette F77 range now consists of two different models- the Mach 2 and the SuperStreet. The range just got a major update. Ultraviolette has rolled out the Gen 3 powertrain firmware. It is claimed to improve the motorcycles' overall performance and ride experience. The Gen 3 powertrain comes with Ballistic+ mode as well. These will be available to all existing owners of the F77 as well. The company will get these installed at no extra cost.
Ultraviolette (UV) says that the update would deliver a “sharper, quicker and even more ballistic riding experience through a surge of initial power”. It further added that ride data spanning over more than 8 million kilometres was used to develop the gen-3 firmware.
The Ballistic+ mode brings about a sharper and quicker acceleration. The previous motorcycle's 'Ballistic' mode itself felt fast and thrilling. 'Ballistic Plus' takes things to a whole new level. The initial pull is now significantly stronger. This has in turn, made the motorcycle faster. You can get a proper taste of the update on the straights of a racetrack, if you are to take the F77 to one. In a video shared by UV, riders also say that the updated F77 feels sharper around corners as well. As the roll-out progresses, even previous F77 models will get the 'Ballistic+' mode.
Last year, UV rolled out an update that brought features like Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control (UVDSC), 10 levels of Regenerative Braking, Hill-Hold Assist, and Violette AI to the F77 range. The latest rollout marks the beginning of the next phase of UV's evolution. The Gen-3 firmware has made extensive use of insights collected by Violette AI in its developmental phases. For the uninitiated, the Violette AI is UV's connected intelligence system. It collects and analyses riding data.
The company has based the new firmware on the insights delivered by these results. These were used to refine and optimise battery performance and the drivetrain at large.
Narayan Subramaniam, the CEO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said in a statement “For decades, vehicles, gadgets, and consumer electronics have followed a familiar trajectory where they start strong, but degrade over time. While others may practice planned obsolescence, we believe in the opposite paradigm, where technology evolves and gets better with time. At Ultraviolette, we envision how a machine could learn from you, evolve with you, and unlock more power the longer you own it.”
Ultraviolette's co-founder and CTO Niraj Rajmohan said that each F77 comes with a vehicle control unit and a powerful onboard intelligence system. The latter collects data from over 3000 data points, in real time. These are then analysed using Violette AI. The system then interprets the data, learns from it and optimises the vehicle's performance accordingly. He says that the company bets big on the Violette AI. He also added that the new update shows the integration of advanced hardware and smart software.
Ultraviolette as a company is focused on developing future-ready EV platforms and battery tech. Previously, UV had launched two interesting products- the Tesseract e-scooter and the Shockwave e-bike. The Tesseract, an electric scooter based on the F77 platform, instantly rose to fame. Bookings soared, with 50,000 reservations being made in just two weeks. The deliveries are expected in early 2026.
Ultraviolette Automotive is backed by bigshots like Lingotto (a subsidiary of EXOR N.V.- the company that is also an investor in Ferrari ), Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor Company, and Speciale Invest. In the upcoming months, we could see more interesting news coming from UV..
