New Ultraviolette TVC Has The F77 Superstreet Star Alongside A Yamaha RD 350 [Video]

The Yamaha RD350 has always remained a symbol of raw, brutal performance. Ultraviolette recently released the official TVC (TV Commercial) of the F77 SuperStreet, which interestingly, stars the EV alongside an RD350!
The video starts by showing a garage. It clearly belongs to someone who has been into riding for long. Several motorcycles are seen parked. And there is the Red RD 350 as well. We are given a closer look at the RD, which evoke memories of the times when this motorcycle used to rule the Indian roads. Soon, we get our first visual of the lead character of the ad- the F77 SuperStreet. The motorcycle shown here is finished in Red.
The film then shows the SuperStreet being ridden by a lady. The electric motorcycle is seen whizzing past the streets, and finally being returned to the garage. In the few seconds that follow, we see several visuals of the SuperStreet and those of the RD 350 back to back.
Ultraviolette is clearly trying to tie its product close to the RD350 and create impressions of comparable (and better) performance in the onlookers. The film ends by saying 'Old love, new flame'. We doubt if any copywriter could ever get a line better than this... Very much apt and on-point! The screen also shows ' There's space for both in your heart and garage'...
The ad film will make enthusiasts connect easily with the SuperStreet, and accept it as a performance-focussed offering. The RD 350 owned the Indian streets in the late 1900s. It was in fact, the first performance motorcycle in India.
Fast forward to 2025 and we have Ultraviolette- India's first performance two-wheeler EV brand with the F77, Superstreet and a number of other products. The common factor between the two is a focus on jaw-dropping performance and adrenaline overdose. Furthermore, the RD 350 and Superstreet are both street bikes.
Back in its day, Yamaha sold a de-tuned version of the RD 350 in India. While the Japanese-spec came with a 40 hp engine. The in-line, two-stroke, 347cc, two-cylinder engine on the Indian model produced 27bhp on the low torque version and 30.5 hp on the high torque version. No wonder the 'RD' in its name stood for 'Race Derived'!Due to its capable two-stroke engine and the brilliant power-to-weight ratio, the RD 350 had insane acceleration. Its performance was so brutal that people started defining 'RD' as 'Rapid Death', as a lot of crashes involved RDs. It could do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 7 seconds.
The F77 Superstreet comes in two variants- Standard and Recon. The Standard has a powertrain output of 36.2PS and 90Nm. The Recon variant delivers 40.2PS and 100Nm! Even though it is much heavier than the RD, the stronger powertrain makes sure that the SuperStreet has insane acceleration as well. 0-60 kph comes in just 2.7 seconds. 100 kph takes 7.8 seconds. Clearly, the two have comparable performance levels.
Ultraviolette offers two battery packs- 7.1 kWh and 10.3 kWh on the SuperStreet. The smaller unit offers an IDC range of 211 km per charge while the larger delivers 323 km per charge.
Charging the F77 Superstreet from 20-80% takes 3 hours on the Standard variant, using a standard charger. Using the Boost charger will bring this down to 1.5 hours. The Recon variant will be able to charge from 20-80% in five hours over the standard charger and 2.5 hours on the Boost charger. UV offers a 3-year / 60,000 km warranty on the SuperStreet.
