Ultraviolette Tesseract Is The 'Mahindra BE6 Moment' For India's Electric 2 Wheeler Segment: 5 Reasons

The Indian SUV maker Mahindra Automotive recently disrupted the electric car market of India with its BE6 Electric SUV, which boasts a radical design and unique features. Well, the same thing is being done by the Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive. The company has recently launched its first electric scooter, the Tesseract, and much like the BE6, it has also shaken up the EV two-wheeler market. Here are the five reasons to prove what we just said.
The first and most important reason why Ultraviolette Automotive’s Tesseract is a game changer is its price. This electric two-wheeler carries a price tag of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), which, to us, seems like a bargain considering what this scooter has to offer. What's even more amazing is that the first 10,000 buyers can get it for an introductory price of just Rs 1.2 lakh. On a similar note, the Mahindra BE6 stunned one and all with a 18.9 lakh rupee price tag, setting the proverbial cat among pigeons.
If you thought that the Ultraviolette Tesseract is just a radical-looking electric scooter, then you know nothing about it. The Tesseract is a beast when it comes to performance. It boasts an electric motor capable of producing 20.1 bhp, which can keep up with 200cc motorcycles like it's a piece of cake.
This EV scooter can also do a sprint from 0-60 kmph in just 2.9 seconds, which is extremely impressive. It also hits a top speed of 125 kmph. Overall, with the instant torque delivery, the Tesseract will be an extremely fun-to-ride electric scooter that can easily destroy many 200cc motorcycles in the country.
280 Bhp, 380 Nm, 202 Kph top speed and a 0-100 Kmph sprint in just 6.7 seconds: That's the Mahindra BE6 for you, an electric SUV that's well and truly raised the bar, just like the Tesseract has done in the two wheeler space!
Another one of the things that make the Tesseract so great is its battery pack options and range. The EV scooter comes with three battery pack options—3.5 kWh, 5 kWh, and 6 kWh. According to Ultraviolette Automotive, the IDC range of the Tesseract is 261 km. As for its real-world range, it is expected to be around 170-175 km on a single full charge.
As for the Mahindra BE6, a real world range of 500 Kms makes it the unbeaten range champion in the sub-30 lakh rupee EV segments.
The Ultraviolette Tesseract looks like an alien spaceship - a term that many used to describe the Mahindra BE6 when it was first showcased late last year.
Circling back to the Tesseract, in terms of design, it boasts an aviation-inspired design. More specifically, the company has drawn inspiration from combat helicopters, which makes it look extremely sharp and bold. It gets floating DRLs and dual LED projector headlights. The company is offering it in four color options, namely Desert Sand, Solar White, Stealth Black, and Sonic Pink.
Like the Mahindra BE6, Ultraviolette Automotive’s Tesseract is also an extremely tech-loaded vehicle. Its list of features includes safety features like a dual radar system (front and rear), a blind spot monitoring system, overtake alerts, lane change assist, rear collision alert, and haptic feedback on handlebars. It also gets an integrated dashcam.
Other features of the Tesseract include a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, onboard navigation, ride analytics and towing alert, keyless access, park assist, hill hold, cruise control, and music control. The scooter also comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, traction control, dynamic stability control, and 14-inch alloy wheels.
Overall, the Ultraviolette Tesseract is an extremely impressive electric scooter that will give its rivals a run for their money. Speaking of competition, the Tesseract will take on rivals like the Ola S1 Pro+, Ather Energy 450X, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and a few others.
