VLF Mobster 150cc Scooter's Launch Date Revealed: Italian Design Meets Indian Roads

VLF has confirmed that its new Mobster scooter will debut in India on September 25, 2025. The launch marks the company’s entry into the premium petrol-powered scooter space, following the market success of its Tennis electric scooter. The Mobster has been designed by Italian designer Alessandro Tartarini, whose work with brands such as Italjet has influenced some of the most distinctive two-wheeler designs in recent years.
The Mobster stands out for its unconventional, aggressive design language. Its streetfighter-inspired bodywork and muscular lines immediately set it apart from traditional scooter styling. The front end features a BMW S1000RR-inspired twin LED headlamp setup integrated into an armour-like front apron, flanked by exposed components and chunky side guards.
The side profile continues the mechanical aesthetic with large air vents and visible hardware, elements more commonly seen on performance motorcycles. The rear maintains this design theme with LED tail-lamps and exposed structural parts.
Under its striking exterior, the Mobster is powered by a 150cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve single-cylinder engine. The liquid cooling system is aimed at maintaining consistent performance in both city traffic and highway conditions, addressing the heat build-up issues seen in air-cooled engines.
Braking is handled by dual disc brakes paired with dual-channel ABS. This ABS system is switchable, allowing riders to adapt braking response to road conditions. Suspension duties are carried out by telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and dual hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. This setup, combined with a high-tensile steel frame, is expected to offer both stability and ride comfort.
The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with wide tyres, 120/70-12 at the front and 130/70-12 at the rear, to improve grip and stability, especially at higher speeds.
VLF has equipped the Mobster with a five-inch full-colour TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity and screen mirroring. Riders can access navigation, call alerts, SMS notifications, and music directly through the scooter’s interface.
A notable addition is a factory-fitted dash cam, making the Mobster the first scooter in its segment to include this feature as standard. The integrated camera allows real-time ride recording, appealing to riders concerned about safety and documentation.
Sales and service will be managed by Motohaus India, which also handles Brixton motorcycles. The company already has outlets in cities such as Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Goa, Kolhapur, and Sangli, with plans for further expansion ahead of the launch.
Global variants of the Mobster are offered with both 125cc and 180cc engine options. The 125cc produces 12 bhp and 11.7 Nm with a top speed of 100 kmph, while the 180cc delivers 18 bhp and 15.7 Nm with a 110 kmph top speed. VLF has yet to confirm which engine option will come to India first.
Local assembly will be carried out at KAW Veloce Motors’ facility in Kolhapur, which previously assembled the Tennis electric scooter. This approach should help keep prices competitive while maintaining quality standards.
The Mobster will compete in a premium scooter segment that already includes the TVS Ntorq 125, Yamaha Aerox 155, and Aprilia models. Its mix of Italian styling, advanced features, and performance-oriented engineering gives it a distinct identity that could appeal to riders seeking something different from mainstream choices.
