Tourists Ride Suzuki Hayabusa And Kawasaki Ninja Superbikes Into Ladakh's Pangong Tso Lake: Booked

Biking culture in India has gained popularity over the years. There are several young people who are interested in biking, and they even buy expensive superbikes to fulfill their passion. Many people create social media content using these bikes. One such biker recently got into trouble with the authorities after he posted content showing him riding superbikes in restricted zones at Pangong Lake and the Nubra sand dunes.
The individual has been identified as Ali Aalyan Iqbal, who creates content related to bikes and bodybuilding on social media and YouTube. As per reports, Leh police have booked the YouTuber for riding his superbikes dangerously in restricted areas.
The YouTuber had posted a video on his channel in the last week of June, showing him riding his superbikes through Ladakh when this incident occurred. Not only did he ride the bikes, but he also posted pictures and videos of it online. In the video, we see Ali on his red-coloured Suzuki Hayabusa in the sand dunes of Nubra.
We have seen several videos in the past where tourists have gotten their vehicles stuck in the sand after accidentally driving their cars into the loose terrain. However, in this case, it was clear that the rider was doing it purely for publicity on social media. In the video, we see Ali ride the bike over the loose sand in Nubra. The rear wheel of the bike is moving freely, kicking up sand into the air.
He is seen doing the same stunt with a Suzuki Hayabusa and a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R superbike. Both motorcycles were seen at Nubra as well as at Pangong Lake. Both these areas are restricted for vehicles as they are eco-sensitive regions, and doing such stunts can harm the fragile ecosystem of Ladakh.
The concerned authorities also came across the videos and social media posts, and that is when they decided to take action against the YouTuber. Leh police posted on their official X profile: “A domestic tourist was booked U/S 125 & 292 of BNS 2023 for dangerously riding a bike in restricted zones of Pangong Lake & Nubra sand dunes, endangering Ladakh’s fragile ecosystem. Visitors are urged to respect local laws to protect Ladakh’s fragile ecosystem.”
Section 125 of BNS deals with acts endangering life or the personal safety of others, while Section 292 refers to public nuisance in cases not otherwise provided for. Riding to Ladakh and Pangong Lake is a dream for many riders. Every person riding a bike should behave responsibly on the road as well as at tourist or eco-sensitive spots.
Hopefully, the YouTuber has learned his lesson and won’t repeat the same mistake in the future. We also came across a video recently where a group of tourists were seen driving 4x4 vehicles to the top of Baralacha Pass. Some of these vehicles got stuck so badly that the Indian Army had to be called in for rescue. Many people don’t realize that even Baralacha Pass is an eco-sensitive region and must be treated accordingly.
