Honda City is one of the popular premium sedans in its segment. It has been in the market for over two decades, and there is still a decent fan following for this model across the country. There are, in fact, enthusiasts who have customised their Honda City sedans in unique ways. Here, we have one such video of a 10-year-old Honda City that has been customised in a unique shade of Volvo’s Sage Green.

The video has been shared by Brotomotive on their YouTube channel. In this video, the owner of the Honda City sedan approached the workshop for repair and customisation work on his car. He had been planning this for quite some time and had a clear idea of what he actually wanted.

Along with the regular restoration and repair work, the owner also wanted to repaint the car in a unique shade along with other customisations. As the customer already had clarity, things were easy for the workshop as they didn’t have to brainstorm ideas.

They brought the car to the workshop and started working on it. The owner and the car are located in Mumbai near the coast, and that has taken a toll on some of the body panels. The air near the coast often contains salt, which leads to rusting on the metal panels.

As they were taking down the panels, they noticed these issues and started working on them. Instead of simply covering the rusted panel with putty, they chopped the rusted part away and welded it back with a fresh metal sheet. They also treated the part in a special way so that the rust issue wouldn’t occur anytime soon.

This is normal in cars that belong too close to the coast. Once the rust issues were resolved, the team started working on the minor dents on the body panels. They took the paint off these marked regions and then fixed the dents.

Once the dents were fixed, a coat of putty was applied on these panels. The putty is often applied to ensure that the panel gets the desired shape. Once the putty was applied, excess putty along with the original paint was removed using a sander. This gives them an even surface to work on, and the paint won’t be too thick after repainting.

Once the sanding work was done, preparations for painting work began. The team took off the headlights, tail lights, and bonnet. They washed the car thoroughly to remove any dust particles and then painted the car with a coat of primer.

Once the primer dried out, they pushed the car to the paint booth and started the painting process. The roof was painted in black, while the rest of the body got Volvo’s Sage Green shade. It is actually a very unique shade and went well with the sedan.

Once the repainting was done, damping work was carried out to improve insulation and audio quality. The car also got a new set of aftermarket alloy wheels finished in a bronze shade and a new set of headlamps. The finished product looked clean and unique. The quality of the work carried out on this project was very evident from the video.
